Description

The company builds autonomous defence platforms and AI-driven software for NATO Allies and partner nations, designed to operate in demanding environments.

The role sits in the R&D-driven Electronics Department, within the Embedded Software Team.

You will connect software work with hardware integration by designing test suites that stress the firmware.

Responsibilities

  • Write test plans, test cases and procedures from functional requirements and design specifications.
  • Build and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using robotframework and Python.
  • Set up and run HIL, SIL and MIL simulation environments to check software behaviour in realistic scenarios.
  • Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and protocol analyzers (CAN, SPI, I2C) to troubleshoot problems across hardware and software.
  • Log, track and follow up software defects, working with firmware developers to verify fixes and run regression tests.
  • Make sure testing meets relevant standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 62304 or DO-178C, where they apply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software testing or development.
  • Strong scripting skills, particularly in Python.
  • Experience with an embedded RTOS (such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr) or bare-metal systems.
  • Familiarity with UART, SPI, I2C and CAN.
  • Experience with Git, Jira and lab equipment such as multimeters, power supplies and debuggers like J-Link.
  • Nice to have: a proactive habit of finding edge cases and likely failure points.
  • Nice to have: comfort working with changing hardware prototypes and early-stage firmware.
  • Nice to have: the ability to turn complex technical bugs into clear reports for non-specialists.
  • Nice to have: fluent English, C1 preferred. German is an advantage but not required.
  • Send your CV in English.

Conditions

You must be eligible to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for this role. Details are shared during recruitment.

The role is in the defence sector, so this requirement applies to all candidates.

Benefits

  • Your work on software and systems directly protects personnel and supports European and national sovereignty.
  • You will work with experienced engineers on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion and secure cyber platforms.
  • The team works at a fast pace and is collaborative, with R&D backing for new ideas.
