Quality Engineer

Description

The role represents the quality function within technical support, working with other internal support groups on manufacturing issues affecting global customer accounts. You also act as the go-to contact between the company and its suppliers or customers on global quality matters.

Responsibilities

• Build and keep up QA plans for global new product introductions, using Advanced Product Quality Planning and process optimization tailored to each customer, so launches stay on schedule.
• Take part in initial process design, development and implementation to support quoting activities.
• Review and improve inspection processes by providing input on inspection aids and instruction guidelines.
• Create and deliver specialized training for all relevant functions to support global training programs for each customer.
• Set up systems for storing, accessing and reviewing documents on global customer accounts, and review document files on a regular basis.
• Review all supplier, customer and internal discrepancies, then coordinate and track corrective and proactive actions to confirm they work.

• Take part in vendor surveys where relevant, encourage suppliers to act proactively, and help them improve their processes where possible.
• Work with all departments on policies and procedures.
• Help introduce and maintain process improvement and optimization, with a focus on proactive methods.
• Help standardize manufacturing processes across global customer accounts.
• Provide technical support on quality issues to customers when needed.
• Follow all safety, health and security rules and procedures for the role, as well as your supervisor's instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
