Description

The company makes a smart ring and companion app that help people track readiness, activity and sleep quality, and it has served millions of people with daily insights. It is growing quickly.

This role owns the roadmap for the Business Technology Services platform and the Workato platform, the shared integration and automation layer that links ERP, finance, commercial and customer systems. That layer feeds the Databricks lakehouse and data mesh and increasingly supports AI agents.

You will work directly with Business Technology directors and their stakeholders to turn unclear platform demand into one prioritized roadmap covering both platforms. You will make the core API contract, versioning and integration-pattern decisions yourself, and work with Enterprise Architecture and the Staff Integration Engineer on deeper systems design.

Responsibilities

  • Own and rank the BTS platform roadmap across Business Technology domains, turning vague business requests into a sequenced backlog that supports scale, international expansion and moving off NetSuite
  • Merge demand intake for BTS and Workato into one structured, ranked process so the team and stakeholders see a single view of integration and automation plans and priorities
  • Work with Business Technology directors and stakeholders in Finance, Supply Chain, Member Experience, Commercial and Corporate to draw out platform needs and replace ad hoc requests with a clear intake and prioritization process
  • Own API contracts, versioning and integration-pattern choices, including Workato versus custom build, sync versus event-driven, and batch versus real-time, and work with Enterprise Architecture and the Staff Integration Engineer on infrastructure design
  • Explain the platform's direction to executives and cross-functional leaders, showing what each investment unlocks and what it costs
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture on scope decisions between platform and domain, including how BTS integration flows feed the Databricks lakehouse and the wider data mesh
  • Review and recommend requirements for MCP servers and AI agents that support the BTS ecosystem, together with AI Productivity
  • Help set up the Integration and Automation Engineering team with the Director, covering team structure, hiring and the move from contractor-led to full-time delivery

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing technical products or platforms, with substantial time spent on infrastructure, integration or API platforms rather than customer-facing features
  • Strong technical background, able to write or critique specs such as OpenAPI, event schemas and contracts, and to defend build-versus-buy and versioning decisions
  • Working knowledge of core AWS services used for integration (API Gateway, Lambda, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS/SNS), enough to judge design and build-versus-buy choices and talk with engineers, without needing to run the infrastructure yourself
  • Hands-on experience with iPaaS or integration platforms such as Workato, MuleSoft or Boomi, plus API design, versioning and contract management
  • Proven record of working with business and operations stakeholders to turn vague or informal requests into clear, buildable requirements
  • Proven record of owning a platform roadmap for several internal teams, including intake and prioritization across competing demand and separate backlogs
  • Able to negotiate sequencing and trade-offs with senior stakeholders at Director level and above, each of whom believes their need comes first
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs in business terms to executives
  • Regular use of LLM assistants and agentic build tools such as Claude, Cursor, Claude Code or Lovable for research, drafting, analysis, prototyping and problem-solving, with good judgment on when AI is the wrong tool and a habit of checking its output
  • A plus: experience setting up or governing an AI control plane, MCP gateway, or agent observability or policy layer
  • A plus: experience with ERP integration or decoupling, such as NetSuite, in a growth-stage company
  • A plus: familiarity with lakehouse or data mesh architectures such as Databricks, and how upstream integration design affects downstream analytics and data products
  • A plus: experience moving a contractor-run function into a permanent platform team
