Description

The team is an SRE group focused on platform reliability within Platform Engineering.

The role is a technical leadership position aimed at keeping the company's platform reliable, debuggable and resilient at European scale, across infrastructure, observability and reliability work that spans teams.

The platform covers 170+ applications and supports 520,000 health professionals and 90 million patients.

The job sits between infrastructure, developer experience and product engineering, and you would advise SREs, software engineers and product teams, guide decisions and mentor engineers.

The platform is a single fully cloud-native system with web and mobile interfaces, several languages, and adaptations for country and healthcare specialty rules.

The stack includes Rails, TypeScript, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift and React Native.

The company uses AI ethically in its products to help patients and health professionals. Details on its AI approach and tech culture are published on its tech site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large reliability projects that cut across the platform, covering infrastructure automation, observability and incident management.
  • Find and push improvements to how incidents are detected, handled and reviewed after the fact.
  • Set and revise SLOs, error budgets and alerting standards for several product teams.
  • Join the on-call rotation and help make it better by tuning alerts, cutting noise and making telemetry actionable.
  • Coach senior engineers and help raise reliability engineering skills across the company.
  • Give technical advice to leadership and represent reliability in architecture reviews and platform discussions.
  • Work with software teams to build reliability practices in early, before code reaches production.

Requirements

  • If your background does not match this profile exactly but you think the role fits your skills, you should still apply.
  • You have 8+ years in SRE, platform engineering or infrastructure work in a large production environment spread across several teams.
  • You have hands-on experience with a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • You have worked with containers and orchestration, and Kubernetes is required, including how it handles deployment and scaling.
  • You have set up and run SLIs, SLOs and error budgets in production.
  • You have managed on-call rotations and led incident response under high pressure.
  • You have a solid systems background and can work fluently in at least one backend language such as Go, Python or Ruby.
  • You can lead through influence by setting technical direction, building agreement and mentoring engineers across teams.
  • You can balance long-term architecture work with quick, incremental fixes.
  • You communicate clearly and concisely, in writing and out loud, and can align people when the picture is unclear.
  • You help feature teams get ready for production by giving practical guidance on reliability, launch reviews and operating standards before go-live.
  • You speak fluent English.
  • It would be fantastic if you: you have deep knowledge of observability tools and design (logging, tracing, metrics).
  • It would be fantastic if you: you have designed and run high-volume telemetry pipelines and helped developers improve instrumentation.
  • It would be fantastic if you: you have worked in regulated fields such as healthcare or fintech, where data privacy and compliance shape every engineering decision.
  • It would be fantastic if you: you care about reliability enablement, golden paths, runbooks and shared libraries.
