Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

This is a senior SRE role focused on the reliability and performance of the company's cloud platforms, which are large-scale software systems combining software engineering with systems administration.

The role sits within a team that works closely with development and technology groups to make applications more reliable and scalable.

Responsibilities

• Learn how the company's cloud platforms are built and how they run.
• Lead improvements to logging, monitoring and application performance management so issues are spotted before they cause outages.
• Build reliability frameworks and patterns that raise the resilience of the SaaS products across several regions and environments.
• Work with engineering teams to share reliability practice and help them own reliability in their services.
• Handle incidents: restore service quickly, keep stakeholders informed and run post-incident reviews that lead to fixes.
• Take part in system design reviews, platform management, infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning.
• Work with engineering and development teams to improve stability, observability and manageability using reliability engineering practice.
• Work alongside DevOps and operations to automate work, adopt Infrastructure as Code and simplify deployments for better efficiency and scale.
• Promote Service-Oriented Organization (SOO) principles so each service has clear ownership and accountability.

Requirements

• At least 6 years in SRE, DevOps or a similar role at large scale.
• Software development experience, ideally as a.NET developer.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, microservice architecture and high availability design.
• Hands-on use of observability tools such as NewRelic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL or similar.
• Production experience with Kubernetes clusters, plus AWS and IOC.
• Experience carrying out operational tasks.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD or similar.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools Terraform and Ansible.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Desirable: experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
