Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

The role is senior and sits within the site reliability team, combining software engineering with systems administration to keep large-scale systems available and performing well.

Responsibilities

• Learn how the Altium Cloud Platforms work end to end.
• Lead new work on logging, monitoring and application performance management to catch problems before they affect users.
• Build reliability frameworks and patterns that make the SaaS products more resilient across regions and environments.
• Teach engineering teams reliability practices and share ownership of production health with them.
• Take part in incident response, including fast recovery, clear updates to stakeholders and post-incident reviews that lead to improvements.
• Contribute to system design reviews, platform management, infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning.
• Work closely with engineering and development teams to improve product stability, observability and manageability.
• Work with DevOps and operations to automate processes, adopt Infrastructure as Code and speed up deployments while keeping operations efficient and scalable.
• Promote Service-Oriented Organization principles so that each service has clear ownership and accountability.

Requirements

• Have 6+ years in SRE, DevOps or a related role at large scale.
• Have software development experience, ideally as a.NET developer.
• Understand SDLC, microservice architecture and high availability design.
• Have worked with observability tools such as New Relic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL or similar.
• Have run Kubernetes clusters in production, and have experience with AWS and IOC.
• Have experience with operational tasks.
• Know CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD or similar.
• Know infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Have a basic understanding of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus.
