Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

The company builds a cloud-based platform that lets electronics teams design, supply and manufacture products together. This role keeps the company's large-scale SaaS systems reliable, available and fast, combining software engineering with systems administration.

The role sits in the SRE team and supports the Altium Cloud Platforms.

Responsibilities

• Learn how the Altium Cloud Platforms work end to end.
• Lead improvements to logging, monitoring and application performance management (APM) so that problems are caught early.
• Build reliability frameworks and patterns that raise the resilience of the SaaS products across several regions and environments.
• Help engineering teams adopt reliability practices, sharing the work of keeping services running.
• Take part in incident response: restore service quickly, keep stakeholders informed, and run post-incident reviews that lead to fixes.
• Contribute to system design reviews, platform management, infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning.
• Work with engineering and development teams to improve product stability, observability and manageability.
• Work with DevOps and Operations to automate work, adopt Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and speed up deployments while keeping operations efficient and scalable.
• Promote Service-Oriented Organization (SOO) principles so that every service has a clear owner.

Requirements

• 6+ years in SRE, DevOps or a related role at large scale.
• Software development experience, ideally as a.NET developer.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), microservice architecture and high-availability (HA) architecture.
• Experience with observability tools such as New Relic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL or similar.
• Production experience with Kubernetes clusters, plus AWS and IOC.
• Experience with operational tasks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD or similar.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools Terraform and Ansible.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus.
