Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Description

The company builds a cloud-based platform that lets electronics teams design, source, and manufacture products together, and this role sits in the team that keeps its large-scale software systems reliable, available, and fast.

You will combine software engineering with systems administration, and work on automation, monitoring, and incident response.

The role is senior, and it supports the Altium Cloud Platforms.

Responsibilities

• Learn how the Altium Cloud Platform works end to end.
• Lead improvements to logging, monitoring, and application performance management (APM) so problems are caught early.
• Build reliability frameworks and patterns that raise the resilience of the SaaS products across several regions and environments.
• Work with engineering teams to teach reliability practices, with the SRE team and developers sharing ownership of uptime.
• Take part in incident response: restore service quickly, keep stakeholders informed, and run post-incident reviews that lead to fixes.
• Join system design reviews, platform management, infrastructure upgrades, and capacity planning.
• Work with engineering and development teams to improve product stability, observability, and manageability.
• Work with DevOps and Operations to automate work, adopt Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and simplify deployments for better efficiency and scale.
• Promote Service-Oriented Organization (SOO) principles so every service has a clear owner.

Requirements

• 6+ years in SRE, DevOps, or a related role at large scale.
• Software development experience, ideally as a.NET developer.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, microservice architecture, and high availability (HA) architecture.
• Experience with observability tools such as NewRelic, ELK, Grafana, PagerDuty, OTEL, or similar.
• Experience running Kubernetes clusters in production, plus AWS and IOC.
• Experience with day-to-day operational tasks.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, ArgoCD, or similar.
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools Terraform and Ansible.
• Basic knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is a plus.
