Sr Staff Dev-Ops Engineer

Description

The company is a software business serving electronics development, with a cloud-based platform used by PCB designers, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.

The role is a senior technical lead position owning complex DevOps work across infrastructure, automation, and delivery pipelines, with independent decision-making and accountability for initiatives that affect the whole organization.

Responsibilities

• Help shape the long-term DevOps roadmap and architectural direction across the organization, serving as a subject matter expert and technical lead.
• Design and run scalable multi-cloud or hybrid environments on AWS, Azure, and GCP using infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
• Own and improve build, release, and CI pipelines in Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions for large, complex, concurrent product deployments.
• Set up advanced monitoring, logging, and alerting with tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack to keep systems highly available and resolve incidents proactively.
• Lead DevOps projects end to end, from planning through delivery, working with a Scrum team of engineers at mixed experience levels.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, write reference implementations and documentation, and raise DevOps maturity across the organization.
• Build security into the delivery lifecycle (DevSecOps) and keep systems aligned with frameworks such as CIS and NIST.

Requirements

• Have 7 to 12 years of professional experience in software engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
• Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
• Have expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration at scale.
• Be strongly proficient in scripting and automation with Python, Go, or Bash.
• Collaborate well across functions and influence stakeholders and lead initiatives without direct authority.
• Have a track record of independently managing DevOps projects, building actionable plans, and delivering results.
