Staff Site Reliability Engineer (f/m/d)

Description

The company runs a hosting business with more than 6.2 million customers worldwide and builds next-generation infrastructure, including sovereign cloud architectures, high-performance GPU clusters and integrated AI automation tools.

Its focus is digital sovereignty for Europe and serving small and medium-sized businesses as well as large enterprises.

The team is made up of infrastructure service experts who work in agile teams with open structures and shared ownership.

The role sits in the team that plans, builds, migrates and runs management services alongside other site reliability engineers.

Responsibilities

• Take part in service design from the start so that operational requirements are built in alongside product requirements.
• Provision, run and migrate distributed, highly available services on Linux and Kubernetes.
• Improve the full stack, from hardware and operating system up to applications, including configuration management and monitoring.
• Build and maintain the company's in-house Kubernetes operators.
• Help developers automate operational work and rollouts, and provide interfaces that other teams can integrate with.
• Administer and troubleshoot a complex, highly available infrastructure, and take part in the on-call rotation.
• Support company goals through efficient architecture, active lifecycle management and lean processes in an agile DevOps setup, including operating certified, security-relevant infrastructure.

Requirements

• A strong interest in infrastructure and a good understanding of networking.
• Hands-on experience running complex services on Linux and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as code and automation are part of how you already work, and you favour open source, especially Linux.
• Solid skill in developing highly available system-level software in programming or scripting languages such as Go and Python.
• Experience with observability stacks such as Loki, Prometheus, Mimir and Grafana.
• Fluent English for working in an international team. German is a benefit.
• Willingness to complete extended security vetting (SÜ2).
