Staff DevOps Engineer

Description

The company is a global software firm in electronics design, owned by the Renesas Group and based in San Diego, California. Its cloud platform links PCB designers, supply chain and manufacturing teams, and more than 30,000 companies and 100,000 electronics engineers use it.

The company is growing, has no debt and is financially strong. The role is based in Lisbon, with work in the office 3 days a week, so you must live close enough to commute to the office.

Responsibilities

• Build and keep improving CI/CD pipelines, and automate server provisioning and application deployment.
• Design resilient, scalable service infrastructure that can support multiple regions.
• Deploy, monitor and scale application services.
• Keep clear, solid working relationships with software development teams.
• Plan and document work and projects, and take part in project management and long-term strategy.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge across the team.

Requirements

• 6+ years in a DevOps or SRE role.
• 6+ years working with Linux and Windows systems.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud components, including EC2, EKS, RDS, Lambda, OpenSearch, S3, FSx, Route53 and network appliances.
• Working knowledge of Jenkins, GitLab or other CI systems.
• Strong grasp of infrastructure as code, with Terraform preferred.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and microservice architecture.
• Good experience monitoring Kubernetes clusters, APM, services and AWS infrastructure with NewRelic and Prometheus.
• Ability to build automation tools in Go, Python, Bash and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery tools used with microservices.
• Coding experience.

Conditions

Based close enough to the Lisbon office to attend 3 days a week.
