Sr Staff Systems Engineer

Description

This is a senior technical leadership role in systems engineering across the product lifecycle, covering system architecture, requirements, integration and verification for imaging and positioning.

You will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory and Service teams as the main technical authority.

Responsibilities

• Work with Product Management to shape new system features and carry out system analyses.
• Define and own system architecture, subsystem breakdown and interface definitions.
• Set system requirements and design inputs, and build end-to-end workflows.
• Act as the technical lead across Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Service, and take system-level issues through to closure.
• Assess and introduce new technologies and methods, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Find and reduce technical risks while keeping deep expertise in the domain.
• Support system-level risk work such as FMEA, hazard analysis and traceability.
• Advise on designing effective risk controls and process controls.
• Plan and lead system integration, and drive verification strategies and test alignment.
• Manage interfaces across subsystems, platforms and products.
• Guide Validation and Verification teams on resolving issues and on creating and reviewing tests.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
• Have extensive systems engineering experience in a regulated product development setting.
• Have proven experience defining complex system architectures and leading cross-functional technical teams.
• Know system requirements management, integration, verification and validation processes well.
• Have experience with risk management methods, including FMEA and hazard analysis.
• Communicate well, manage stakeholders and lead technically.
• Combine strategic technical thinking with hands-on problem solving.
• Influence across functions without direct authority.
• Take strong ownership and deliver high-quality solutions.
