The company builds ground and platform-based technical collection systems for defense customers, using model-based systems engineering, open architectures and open standards.
The program sustains an existing prototype portfolio while moving the next generation of collection capabilities through development, production and operational support.
This role leads architecture for software-intensive, cloud-enabled hardware across on-premises, tactical and secure AWS cloud environments, and shapes how the systems interoperate across diverse hardware.
Responsibilities
Derive the system-of-systems architecture from high-level CONOPS and OPSCON, and pass architectural guidance to several integrated teams.
Drive shared patterns, interfaces and reusable designs across projects and product lines.
Build and maintain architecture artifacts such as block diagrams, interface definitions, data flows and common design solutions using MBSE methods and tools.
Turn a customer's set of separate capabilities into one integrated system that meets current and future mission goals for capability, availability, reliability, performance and security.
With the Chief Engineer, program management and engineering leads, set technical roadmaps, trade spaces and modernization plans that weigh effectiveness, cost, schedule and risk.
Present architecture options, trade studies and decision packages to the customer.
Direct implementation across software, custom mission hardware, cloud, networking and cybersecurity while keeping open architecture and open standards principles intact.
Work with systems engineering, integration and test, software, hardware, cybersecurity and specialty engineering so designs stay aligned with the baseline.
Promote Agile and SAFe practices in architecture and engineering teams so epics, features and enablers are well defined and deliver capability iteratively.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field such as electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or systems engineering, with 14 years of related experience; or a master's in STEM with 12 years; or a PhD in STEM with 10 years.
