Software Engineer C++ (junior-mid)

Description

The Sensor Processing group builds the complete radar software. The work covers controlling the radar systems, scheduling radar transmissions, and processing the digital data stream. The goal is to detect and classify objects such as aircraft and drones, track them, and show them on an operator console.

The architecture is highly modular and built to support robust, evolving systems. Agile teams develop the software using a current toolchain, and the teams themselves maintain the architecture, the toolchain, and the Agile process.

Responsibilities

• Write C/C++ software for the SMU (sensor management unit) team.
• Handle integrations and troubleshooting to ensure the software runs correctly across different radar systems.
• Work as a link between disciplines within a close-knit team.

Requirements

• Hold a completed Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Have at least 2 years of C++ software development experience, and ideally experience with C and real-time software.
• Know Linux and build and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, and Maven.
• Have worked in a large software development organization and be an effective team member.
• Be analytical, creative, open-minded, flexible, results-oriented, and proactive, and communicate clearly.
• Speak Dutch at native or near-native level (C1/C2) and professional English.
• Experience with other languages such as Java is a plus.
• Reskilling is possible only if you already have real-time software experience.
• Be eligible for VGB-B clearance and Dutch Eyes Only classification.

Conditions

Position: C/C++ radar software engineer.

The team is multidisciplinary, working with specialists in system engineering, functional sensor design, and real-time systems.

The company designs radar systems and optical sensors that form part of integrated defense systems, from small portable radars to four-dimensional radars that detect small objects at distances up to thousands of kilometers.

A government clearance will be requested under standard company procedures.
