Description

The company is a young startup building clean, high-temperature nuclear power that is quick to deploy, factory-made and built for real conditions. It serves industry, hydrogen and advanced manufacturing. Its first pilot plant is in Orangeville, Utah, where advanced reactor systems and fuel fabrication will be shown.

Before its third anniversary, the company designed, built, commissioned and ran a DOE-authorized research reactor outside the national laboratory system. Safe operation, disciplined testing and regulatory rigor are required. The team expects sound decisions, ownership and work carried through to delivery.

Instrumentation and Controls is part of Engineering. The team designs the control architectures and systems that monitor, automate and protect the company's facilities and reactor technologies, aiming for safe and efficient operation.

OT Engineering covers power and rack infrastructure, compute, networks, identity, security, operational data and industrial software platforms, including FactoryTalk backend deployment, configuration, integration and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Run the fuel program's daily OT work plan at the Orangeville site, including team workload and delivery commitments.
  • Keep local installation, testing and maintenance in step with manufacturing needs, and hand work off reliably to the Torrance team.
  • Set local priorities and build a realistic work plan that accounts for manufacturing, maintenance, site resources and delivery dates.
  • Assign work, set clear expectations, coach people, give candid feedback and address missed commitments within your delegated authority.
  • Coordinate installation, testing, maintenance and vendor work with production and engineering stakeholders.
  • Arrange specialist support across Orangeville and Torrance, defining task ownership, prerequisites and handoffs.
  • Maintain as-built structured cabling drawings for site and fuel network systems.
  • Keep status and issue records accurate, with completion evidence. Resolve blockers and escalate site constraints quickly.
  • Obtain required engineering and acceptance decisions, then take work through testing, documentation and operational turnover.
  • Stay steady and practical when production, maintenance or site priorities change.
  • Balance installation, maintenance and production support while holding to agreed priorities.
  • Communicate across sites so work keeps moving and each owner stays accountable through handoffs.

Requirements

  • Direct people-management or supervisory experience, covering assignments, expectations, coaching, feedback and accountability for completed work.
  • Experience coordinating concurrent technical or operational work that involves specialists, vendors, resources, schedules and dependencies.
  • Ability to keep priorities clear, work plans realistic and status records accurate, and to follow through under pressure.
  • Experience clearing delivery obstacles, escalating serious issues and coordinating handoffs against engineers' requirements and acceptance decisions within delegated authority.
  • Experience coordinating local installation, maintenance, testing and documentation, with dependable handoffs to production and across sites.
  • Strong contractor management, including time spent leading a team that was mostly contractors.
  • Highly organized, with disciplined task tracking, accurate documentation and clear priorities.
  • Technical specialization is preferred, not required. Qualified nontechnical people managers are eligible, and hands-on engineering work is not required.
  • Preferred: experience managing infrastructure or technical services in manufacturing or other production settings.
  • Preferred: experience planning installation or maintenance work in a quality-controlled operating environment.
  • Preferred: familiarity with industrial OT infrastructure or with running local teams alongside remote specialists.

Conditions

The role is based at the Orangeville site and involves working across Orangeville and Torrance.

Benefits

  • Fast paths to career growth and internal promotion.
