Description

The company is developing clean, high-temperature nuclear power designed to scale, for industrial users, hydrogen production and next-generation manufacturing.

Its first pilot plant, in Orangeville, Utah, is meant to show how advanced nuclear systems and fuel fabrication can supply power.

The staff are builders, engineers and operators who want nuclear plants that deploy quickly, are factory-made and work in real conditions.

The Construction and Infrastructure group provides the facilities, infrastructure and construction work the company needs. It plans, executes and delivers complex capital projects with attention to quality, safety and readiness to operate.

Responsibilities

  • Run infrastructure and facility projects from planning and design through construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate internal staff, design consultants, contractors and vendors so work finishes safely, on time, on budget and to technical and operating requirements.
  • Measure success by schedule and budget results, forecast accuracy, design and build quality, tight control of change orders and RFIs, safety record, and clean commissioning and handover.
  • Set up project scope, schedule, budget and execution plans with milestones, deliverables and decision points.
  • Monitor progress, catch risks, issues and dependencies early, and report regularly to leadership.
  • Chair project meetings and keep action items clearly assigned.
  • Direct architects, engineers and consultants so design output matches project requirements.
  • Run design reviews, constructability reviews and value-engineering work, and settle conflicts between disciplines.
  • Log and manage RFIs, submittals, design changes and technical decisions.
  • Work with construction managers, general contractors and trade contractors to track progress and fix field problems that affect cost, schedule, quality or safety.
  • Review change orders and contractor claims, keeping design intent and project requirements intact during construction.
  • Plan site logistics, construction sequencing and turnover.
  • Build and update budgets and cost forecasts, tracking commitments, actual spend, contingency and change orders.
  • Keep critical-path schedules current, look for ways to recover time, and manage long-lead equipment purchasing, raising cost and schedule risks early.
  • Turn business and operating needs from Infrastructure Design, Construction, Facilities, Operations, Procurement, Finance, EHS, IT and other groups into project requirements that fit wider site plans.
  • Lead commissioning, startup, punch lists and closeout, including as-builts, O&M manuals, training and asset handover to Facilities and Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or a related field.
  • 5+ years managing construction, infrastructure, facilities, engineering or capital projects.
  • Have taken projects through both design and construction.
  • Know construction documents, schedules, budgets, contracts and change management well.
  • Have managed architects, engineers, contractors and vendors.
  • Communicate and organize well.
  • Handle several projects and priorities at the same time.
  • Preferred: experience with industrial, advanced manufacturing, data center, semiconductor, aerospace, defense, laboratory or other technically complex facilities.
  • Preferred: experience managing projects valued at $10M to $100M+.
  • Preferred: PMP, PE, CCM or equivalent certification.
  • Preferred: experience with mission-critical infrastructure and utility systems.
  • Preferred: experience with commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Preferred: experience on the owner or operator side of capital projects.
  • Preferred: experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore or similar project-management platforms.

Conditions

Salary range is $185,000 to $230,000 USD.

Benefits
