Description

The company is a global leader in continuous glucose monitoring, started about 25 years ago, and is now expanding into broader consumer health technology while still building solutions for serious conditions.

The Information Security team is building Enterprise Cyber Defense, a global function that combines proactive, threat-informed defense across detection, incident response, hunting and validation, readiness, risk response, security automation, and defensive tooling engineering.

This is a hands-on senior role acting as cyber defense architect, technical lead, and final technical authority, shaping roadmap and architecture decisions and leading complex work across detection, response, hunting, automation, and readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the technical strategy and roadmap for Enterprise Cyber Defense so it matches business risk, the threat landscape, and Information Security priorities.
  • Set the architecture standards for cyber defense, including design principles, telemetry standards, integration patterns, and engineering practices across platforms and data sources.
  • Own the full detection engineering lifecycle: detection logic, correlation rules, use cases, telemetry needs, validation, tuning, and measured effectiveness in every environment.
  • Design and build advanced detections, telemetry integrations, SOAR workflows, and agentic response patterns, keeping appropriate human oversight in place.
  • Lead large cross-functional defense and technology programs, working through dependencies, technical tradeoffs, and sequencing decisions.
  • Provide senior technical leadership during the most complex incidents and emerging or unconventional risk scenarios, driving root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lasting defensive fixes.
  • Define the technical approach for threat hunting and adversary validation, using threat intelligence, red and purple team results, incident lessons, and simulations to strengthen defenses.
  • Lead readiness engineering through technical exercises, playbook validation, escalation testing, and finding and fixing systemic gaps.
  • Explain technical risk to senior leaders and mentor engineers and analysts to raise overall technical maturity.

Requirements

  • You have led complex cyber defense initiatives across organizational boundaries.
  • You have deep hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, XDR/EDR, NDR, identity and email telemetry, and cloud security in large cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
  • You have a strong engineering background in detection logic, automation, telemetry pipelines, API integrations, or security tooling, using Python, PowerShell, SPL, KQL, SQL, or similar languages.
  • You have deep knowledge of adversary behavior, threat hunting, incident response, digital forensics fundamentals, detection engineering, cyber threat intelligence, and MITRE ATT&CK.
  • You have applied AI or machine learning to detection, investigation, or automated response, including measuring performance and keeping appropriate human oversight.
  • You can act as a senior technical authority, influence leaders without formal authority, mentor senior practitioners, and make sound decisions under high stakes.
  • You may also hold certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, GIAC, or an equivalent advanced security certification.
  • Education and experience: a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 13 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and at least 8 years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD and at least 5 years of experience.
  • Travel: 0-5%.
