The team is looking for an experienced Security Architect with a Fortinet focus to lead technically and set architecture governance for enterprise security environments. The role shapes and evolves security architectures, covering firewall strategy, network segmentation, IPS/IDS frameworks, cloud security integration and operational security controls. As the senior technical authority, you will support complex security incidents and changes and keep designs resilient, compliant and sustainable to run.

Responsibilities

• Design, roll out and govern enterprise security architectures, with a focus on Fortinet FortiGate environments.
• Set security standards, firewall policies, segmentation approaches and IPS/IDS architectures.
• Run architecture reviews and advise on cloud security integration and operational security controls.
• Support and oversee complex security changes, major incidents and root cause investigations.
• Make sure security solutions meet compliance, resilience and business requirements.
• Build and maintain security governance frameworks, standards and technical documentation.
• Work with infrastructure, cloud, network and operations teams to deliver secure, supportable platform designs.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for security technical challenges and architectural decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement and security best practice across the environment.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing and running enterprise security architectures.
• Strong expertise in Fortinet FortiGate, network security, firewall technologies and security operations.
• Deep knowledge of network segmentation, IPS/IDS technologies, secure architecture principles and cloud security integration.
• Experience supporting complex security incidents, risk mitigation and compliance requirements.
• Ability to weigh security goals against operational practicality and maintainability.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• German at minimum B2 level, mandatory. You will take part in technical discussions, security reviews, incident coordination, change management and daily communication with German-speaking stakeholders, customers and operations teams.
• Swiss citizenship required.
• Preferred certifications: Fortinet Certified Solution Specialist (FCSS) in Network Security or equivalent NSE7-level certification; Fortinet Certified Expert (FCX), preferred for lead architecture roles; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Additional security, network, storage or compute infrastructure certifications are an advantage.

Conditions

Location: Winterthur area, Switzerland.

You should live in or be regularly available in the Winterthur region to support customers, operational alignment and coordination with onsite and remote-hands teams, and to join governance, escalation, architecture and service review meetings as needed.
