Cloud Infrastructure Systems Administrator - LINUX Admin

Description

The company's IT team is looking for a Linux administrator to work on cloud environments and to use the command line confidently.

Experience with cloud services is expected. Candidates who cover only some of the skills listed below are still considered.

The company supports government customer missions that are tied to national safety.

Responsibilities

• Support Linux desktops on site.
• Support Linux servers, both cloud-hosted and remote.
• Support local and remote Nutanix Cloud-in-a-box infrastructure.
• Deploy and troubleshoot hardware.
• Manage and maintain AWS cloud resources.
• Work with IPA, Puppet and Ansible, and write and maintain documentation.
• Troubleshoot problems in the cloud-based network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot local network issues.
• Configure network switches and settings for newly deployed hardware.

Requirements

• Required: hold a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or CISSP), or earn it within 1 to 2 months of starting.
• Required: hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
• Required: have roughly 10 to 12 years of experience administering Linux servers and desktops and troubleshooting networks.
• Required: understand DevOps practices and methodologies.
• Required: be willing to learn new technologies.
• Desired: knowledge of Puppet, IPA and Kubernetes.
• Desired: experience with Juniper and/or Cisco switches.
• Desired: experience with or understanding of Cloud-in-a-Box solutions such as Nutanix.
• Desired: experience with Proxmox.
• Desired: experience with Ansible and scripting.
• Desired: experience with Packer kickstarts and AMI creation.
• Desired: experience using infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) to provision cloud and on-prem resources.

Conditions

This is a full-time, regular position.

Travel of up to 10% within the continental US may be required.

The minimum clearance required to start is TS/SCI with Polygraph.

The anticipated posting end date is 12/31/2026.

The proposed salary range is $105,100-$231,100.

Because the role can be worked from more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

Final pay depends on factors including location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant prior experience, specific skills and competencies, education and certifications.
