Description

The company builds an AI CRM where people and agents work together on customer success.

This is a Systems Engineer role at Level 6 or 7 in Software Engineering, bridging technical and functional delivery.

The focus is security architecture and administration across Workday HCM and Workday Financials modules in IT Finance and Employee Success.

Responsibilities

  • Turn use cases and problem statements from Product Managers into detailed technical requirements, user stories, edge cases and validation rules.
  • Build and run the Workday security model, checking impact and advising on best practice.
  • Configure assigned platforms by hand, weighing design tradeoffs and recording why each choice was made.
  • Assess build versus buy options for technical complexity, integration impact and effort, then recommend a path to the Product Manager.
  • Find upstream and downstream integration impacts before build starts and coordinate with integration engineers.
  • Write and maintain integration-aware test cases and run end-to-end regression across system boundaries.
  • Lead UAT for assigned features: prepare test environments, guide business SMEs, and triage and fix defects for retesting.
  • Review configuration written by teammates and managed service providers.
  • Write release notes covering changes, testing and known impacts or dependencies.
  • Handle recurring platform release rollouts on the systems you are assigned.
  • Take ownership of SOX control steps for assigned systems, completing quarterly certifications and supporting audit walkthroughs on your own.
  • Join backlog grooming and Big Room Planning sessions and check that sprint items are ready.
  • Start contributing to AI and agent build work, configuring and testing basic Agentforce flows or platform AI features.
  • Help with production triage and root cause analysis, escalating to Ops and engineering when needed.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of hands-on Workday configuration or implementation experience.
  • You understand the Workday security framework well.
  • Ability to break business use cases into technical requirements, configuration specs and acceptance criteria on your own.
  • Track record of running UAT and resolving defects alongside business SMEs.
  • Working knowledge of platform security, business processes, and reporting and integration.
  • Experience owning SOX or similar compliance controls, including audit walkthroughs.
  • Have reviewed others' configuration work.
  • Hands-on work with Agile or Scrum, covering backlog refinement and delivering sprints.
  • Able to brief Product Managers and other stakeholders on tradeoffs and progress in plain terms.
  • Integration awareness to judge technical complexity and feasibility.
  • A related technical degree.
  • Even better if: basic exposure to configuring or testing AI or agentic features, such as Agentforce, Einstein or equivalent.
  • Even better if: experience managing scheduled Workday release cycles.
  • Even better if: familiarity with integration frameworks and coordinating cross-system dependencies with integration engineers.
  • Even better if: experience with version control, code collaboration and continuous integration tools such as Git.
  • Even better if: exposure to geo expansion or M&A system onboarding.
  • Even better if: experience in SaaS or PaaS architectures and enterprise IT environments.
  • Even better if: Workday Security Pro certification.
