Sr. Site Reliability Engineer

The team is moving from support and operations toward owning reliability outright. The role covers availability, performance and scalability for one of the most critical shared services at the company.

The team values people who love learning and keep improving how things work. You will get hands-on cloud SRE experience, even if you come from application support.

Responsibilities

• Set and track Service Level Objectives for the systems you own, and keep improving availability, latency and overall health.
• Write automation that scales systems, prevents service issues, and speeds up recovery when problems happen.
• Work with development teams on reliability, observability and faster releases.
• Take part in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems and root cause analysis.
• Argue for sound engineering practices that make services scalable, reliable and fast.
• Help the cloud migration from the start: join architectural reviews, operational acceptance testing, and set up Datadog dashboards and metrics.
• Keep learning and developing alongside the team.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related software or systems engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior application support experience with a site reliability focus.
• Scripting skills in Shell, Python or similar.
• Experience maintaining infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace or similar.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Proficiency with Git workflows.
• Preferred: 6+ years in the industry.
• Preferred: experience with DevOps concepts and ways of working.
• Preferred: experience with algorithms and data structures.
• Preferred: understanding of identity and access management and application security.
• Preferred: hands-on expertise with both AWS and Azure.
