Description

You will join the global product management team for the company's multiport platform and help lead and support several generations of platform solutions across their full lifecycle.

This is an individual contributor role reporting to a Managing Staff Product Manager.

You will act as an upstream strategy and product management expert, working with cross-functional partners to guide launches and provide strategic input at every lifecycle stage.

The core focus is planning and rolling out telesurgery worldwide, based on close analysis of user needs and business goals.

You will be a key stakeholder during design and development and a global market authority, shaping portfolio direction and budget recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • In your first 12 months, learn the company's current products, portfolio and business processes through hands-on use, demonstrations, case observation, and interviews with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Gather and group user needs across global markets for telecollaboration in robotics, run market research, and merge global data sources to close gaps in market understanding.
  • Own a platform-level 5 year roadmap for the team, shaped by global user needs.
  • Turn regional requirements and user needs into product requirements that balance feasibility, timing and business needs, and own product desirability as documented in market and product requirements.
  • Lead and connect engineering, clinical, human factors, UX, cyber, service, regulatory and commercial partners, communicating clearly and building relationships to align on the product and user experience.
  • Make sure engineering translates key user needs into design requirements.
  • Agree on the target user experience, and when new issues arise, quickly identify and involve the right stakeholders.
  • Using early market preparation and learnings from early use, build a prioritized feature roadmap for continued development and expansion into new market groups.
  • Own the market introduction of a new telecollaboration platform outside the US, covering commercial education, marketing materials, commercial training and handover to local commercial teams.
  • Help develop pricing and distribution guidelines.
  • With other product managers, build a view of how the platform fits the portfolio and its strategy.

Requirements

  • Show demonstrated prior experience in the essential duties listed above.
  • Hold at least a bachelor's degree.
  • Have at least 4 years in a medical device role and 8+ years of professional experience overall.
  • Preferred: an MBA or equivalent.
  • Preferred: an engineering degree.
  • Preferred: extensive experience leading, supporting or integrating networked products, such as telehealth.
  • Preferred: product management experience in the medical device industry.
  • Preferred: professional engineering experience in a highly regulated industry such as medical devices, in software and/or hardware development.

Conditions

Global travel is required, including travel outside the United States, and you need a valid passport.

The company or its customers may require proof of current vaccination against certain diseases, including COVID-19; requirements vary by role.

Some roles may be subject to U.S. export controls for candidates who are nationals of embargoed or sanctioned countries. The company may need an export license, which can take 3 to 6+ months, or a Technology Control Plan, which typically adds 2 weeks. Final offers depend on an approved license and/or an executed Technology Control Plan before the start date, which may not be flexible. Candidates will be told about any steps required.

Applicants with arrest and conviction records are considered in line with fair chance laws.

The role may be filled at a different job level depending on business need and the selected candidate's experience, knowledge and skills.

Pay is based mainly on the job level at which the role is filled and the candidate's qualifications, consistent with applicable law.
