Description

The company's digital group works to improve patient care by giving care teams data and insights from a connected digital ecosystem. It builds new products and keeps existing ones running for customers and partners.

This is a senior program delivery role covering a portfolio of digital work: software product delivery, cloud infrastructure build-out, platform engineering and operational readiness. You are the main accountable program manager, responsible for delivering each program on scope, on time, on budget and in line with quality and regulatory standards.

Infrastructure dependencies such as cloud setup, network design, DevOps pipeline maturity, and security and compliance controls are core program concerns here, not side issues.

The work depends more on influence than on task management. You need solid program management fundamentals, a real stake in outcomes, an understanding of how medical technology is developed, and high standards for yourself and your teams. Integrity, sound judgment, and a need to understand the reasons behind decisions matter. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, good at simplifying and clarifying, and as at ease presenting to executives as digging into a burndown chart.

Responsibilities

  • Run cross-functional development programs across the company's business units and shared services, including cloud and infrastructure work, and deliver on commitments and outcomes.
  • Help teams sort their tasks so they focus on what moves progress and are not pulled off course by minor issues.
  • Coordinate with functional teams, including those responsible for infrastructure environments, so the right people get accurate status at the right time and cross-product dependencies are mapped, planned and carried out cleanly.
  • Assess risks, build contingency plans, and collect data from functions to bring prioritization and scheduling trade-off decisions forward early.
  • Enforce disciplined requirements analysis, design, development and testing through sound engineering practice and well-run phase gates.
  • Work with other parts of the organization and with external partners to secure functional support and input for the project.
  • Help lead changes to project management processes and to how new products and capabilities are shipped.
  • Serve as the main contact for stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership in project, program and portfolio management of large software delivery efforts that involve infrastructure.
  • Solid technical grounding in infrastructure platforms, DevOps practice and cloud operations.
  • Working knowledge of environment management, change control and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles, containers and tooling, enough to grasp release dependencies and risks.
  • Sound grasp of software product engineering principles, manufacturing, servicing and quality control.
  • Track record of strategic thinking and planning that aligns product development with business goals and market needs.
  • Self-driven, accountable and self-sufficient.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for audiences at every level.
  • Ability to spot project problems and devise creative, simple, customer-focused solutions.
  • Track record of influencing people at many levels and resolving conflict calmly.
  • At least 8 years of program and project management experience with a bachelor's degree, or 6 years with a master's degree. This must include hands-on work developing and commercializing highly technical regulated medical devices.
  • Preferred: understanding of design controls under US and international regulations.
  • Desired: project management certification such as PMP or CSM.

Conditions

The company and customers may require proof of current vaccination against certain diseases, including COVID-19; requirements vary by role.

Some roles may be subject to U.S. export controls for candidates who are nationals of embargoed or sanctioned countries. An export license can take 3 to 6+ months, and a Technology Control Plan typically adds 2 weeks to hiring. Offers are contingent on an approved license and/or an executed plan before the start date, which may or may not be flexible.

Preference goes to qualified candidates who do not live, or plan to live, in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina or Tennessee.

The role may be filled at a different job level depending on business need and the selected candidate's experience, knowledge and skills. Pay will be based mainly on the job level filled and the candidate's qualifications, consistent with applicable law.

Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records are considered in line with fair chance laws.
