Sr. Principal Operations Support Engineer – Level 4

Description

This is a Senior Principal Operations Support Engineer (Level 4) role on the space sector team in Aurora, CO.

You will build and keep a deep technical understanding of the systems so problems can be found and fixed quickly, keeping availability and capability at their highest.

The job is fully onsite and cannot be done remotely.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

• Build products and concepts of operations (CONOPs) for a mission-critical system that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
• Analyze trends in operational data and simulate new products and CONOPs before they go into operation.
• Troubleshoot real-world operations issues.
• Return systems to an operational state while protecting their health and safety and maximizing mission availability.
• Write or review standard operating procedures run in real time on the live system for routine events and anomaly recovery.
• Write scripts and products that automate the operation of complex systems.
• Build full suites of operational products for newly delivered systems.
• Take on other duties as they are assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years, or a PhD with 4 years.
• Active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with an active Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph at the time you apply.
• Prior experience in operations and/or systems engineering.
• Experience with Linux OS and Linux scripting tools.
• Scripting in PERL, Python, or MATLAB.
• Ability to work a non-traditional week that includes occasional 12-hour shifts and weekends, based on business need.
• Experience on a geographically spread team in a matrix organization.
• Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, such as Confluence and JIRA.
• Preferred: experience working with customer organizations spread across multiple sites.
• Preferred: experience troubleshooting live telemetry on operational systems.
• Preferred: experience automating processes and scripts.
• Preferred: experience with optical systems.
• Preferred: experience with data science methods.
• Preferred: experience analyzing imagery and telemetry.

Conditions

Travel is required for 10% of the time.

Clearance is required for start, and the clearance type is polygraph.

The position depends on the company winning program award(s), keeping customer funding, and you holding final clearances (where applicable) before the start date.

Final clearances and program access must be obtained within a reasonable period set by the company.

Work is 100% onsite in Aurora, CO, with no telecommuting.

Primary level salary range is $142,200.00 to $213,400.00. This is a general guide, and the offer depends on scope of the role, your experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
