Sr Business Analyst (m/w/d)

Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Finance and Sales Operations, you will help drive commercial performance in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, using data to inform strategy, sales effectiveness and growth.

The role centres on territory design, quota setting and segmentation and targeting, with support for regional P&L management and turning complex data into recommendations people can act on. You will work closely with senior sales leaders and other functions.

Responsibilities

• Set sales quotas for sales staff using established guidelines, and track progress towards attainment.
• Work with sales management to design territories under established guidelines, arranging accounts into quarterly alignments.
• Lead local customer segmentation and targeting.
• Monitor and report on individual performance across the sales team.
• Prepare financial and sales reporting and analyses for leadership reviews, including weekly sales reports, the quarterly leadership package and the senior leadership dashboard.
• Give the sales organisation detailed, actionable analysis to improve performance.
• Analyse internal data, such as procedure volumes, surgeon training activity and deal pipeline, alongside external data, such as market sizing and working days, to build, explain and defend your findings.
• Work with marketing, training and market access to read past results and market conditions, forecasting trends, market potential and achievable share.
• Own regional P&L management under the manager's supervision, covering revenue and spending.
• Support annual strategic planning with analyses, including the annual goal-setting process.
• Build detailed spend budgets and forecasts for each regional P&L stakeholder, keeping them within budget, and set up trackers and reporting tools for regular spend review.
• Build the detailed revenue budget and forecast, and set up reporting tools to track revenue.
• Join cross-functional work to investigate and fix operational issues with the Shared Service Center and the Center of Excellence in Aubonne, Switzerland.
• Use analysis to test anecdotal claims, confirming or ruling them out.
• Set priorities for requests and meet stakeholder expectations.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in economics, finance or a related field is required; a master's is a plus.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, data and financial analysis and related project management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, plus some hands-on experience with query and data management tools such as SQL and Salesforce. Experience with analytics tools such as Tableau, Python or R is a plus.
• Strong analytical ability, with close attention to detail and accuracy, and a consistent knack for drawing strategic insight from data.
• Able to support and prioritise several projects at once, and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-moving organisation.
• Excellent spoken and written communication in German and English, including working with senior leaders.

The role may be filled at a job level other than the one stated, depending on business needs and the experience of the selected candidate.
