SQL/ Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Description

The team is hiring a SQL and Oracle DBA to join the IT team in Lisbon.

The role is hybrid and based in Lisbon.

The company is a European digital services firm with 28,000 consultants and specialists, operating in 19 countries and reporting 2.5 billion euros in sales in 2023.

Responsibilities

• Keep database operations under watch and make sure database instances keep running correctly.
• Create and manage database user accounts, roles and privileges in line with the defined security policies.
• Carry out routine administration work.
• Own Admin-level incidents at L2/L3 for databases, whether they come from monitoring tools or the support teams.
• Find and fix performance problems.
• Set up, manage and tune backup and restore strategies for databases.
• Write up and improve recovery and failover procedures.
• Run maintenance, version upgrades, migrations and configuration changes.
• Write and keep technical documentation up to date.
• Typical environments include SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle.

Requirements

• An academic background in IT or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a DBA working with Oracle and SQL.
• Experience with performance analysis, database tuning, optimization, queries, scripting and troubleshooting.
• You take initiative.
• You work well in a team.
• You communicate clearly.
• You are rigorous, service-minded, able to work on your own and a strong team player.
• Fluent English, including technical English.
