Solution Architect - Business Applications & Integration

Description

This role is a full-time Solution Architect position based in Hengelo, with 32 to 40 hours a week and a hybrid setup.

You will join the SID squad within the IS/IT Business Applications domain, where the focus is on digitalizing, standardizing and modernizing the organization's applications.

Your work centres on integrations, Industry 4.0 solutions and scalable application architectures, including digital solutions built on the low-code platforms Mendix and ServiceNow.

The squad sits at the middle of the company's digital landscape, linking business needs, IT capabilities and architecture direction so that everyone shares the same understanding.

The company is a high-tech organization active in aerospace, transportation, defence, security and space. Its IS/IT team supports more than 3,000 colleagues across several business lines and works with international IS/IT teams in the wider group, using agile ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Understand business processes, challenges and needs by working closely with business stakeholders.
• Turn business questions into clear, future-proof IS/IT solutions.
• Design application, data and integration architectures, using modelling techniques such as ArchiMate.
• Design and implement integrated solutions for Industry 4.0 across smart mobility, IoT (including platforms such as Cumulocity), industrial networks and process automation, including introducing RPA with UiPath, so they strengthen and standardize the application landscape.
• Help shape the squad's technical and architectural roadmap together with the Lead Engineers.
• Share best practices and tooling with other architects and international the company teams.
• Deliver solutions that help users work more efficiently as the company ramps up.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• Experience with API architecture and integration patterns.
• Experience with application design and solutioning.
• Experience with integration technologies such as SOAP, REST and Kafka.
• Knowledge of basic networking and security concepts.
• Experience with modelling, for example ArchiMate.
• You lead by giving direction and making decisions, and you act as a sparring partner who explains architectural choices so the team understands them.
• You communicate well and can challenge both business and IT stakeholders.
• You work transparently and predictably, and you take ownership of your work.
• You speak and write Dutch and English excellently.

Conditions

32 to 40 hours a week, full-time, based in Hengelo.

Hybrid working: 60% in the office and 40% remote.
