Description

You will be the lead architect for planning and analytics work built on SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) inside a complex SAP landscape. The job centres on setting the SAC solution architecture, designing advanced planning models, and making sure SAC connects reliably to enterprise data platforms.

You will work with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and technical development teams to make sure solutions handle planning, forecasting, and reporting needs. Performance, scalability, and ease of maintenance are central to the role.

The company is a Business and IT boutique consultancy focused on Life Sciences, with pharma, healthcare, and animal health clients. It has more than 450 employees in 25 offices worldwide and concentrates on S/4HANA, Data & Cloud, and newer technologies.

The Japan office is in an early growth phase. The role is based in Tokyo and works remotely, with travel to Yamagata when the client asks. The company is looking for someone who can lead the workstream on the client side and take on larger projects soon.

You will be a founding member of the Japan team. You will work on projects for global clients, bridging the English-speaking global business and local operations, which may be Japanese-speaking. You will have real accountability and ownership, and you will see the direct effect of your work.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the full SAC solution architecture so it fits business requirements and enterprise IT standards.
  • Lead the design of SAC planning models, covering dimensions, measures, hierarchies, calculations, and data structures.
  • Design scalable planning and forecasting solutions that include allocations, simulations, version management, and advanced planning features.
  • Design the integration architecture between SAC and SAP systems, including SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, and other enterprise data sources.
  • Set architectural guidelines, data modelling standards, and development practices for SAC implementations.
  • Work with functional teams and business stakeholders to turn complex planning needs into workable technical solutions.
  • Guide and oversee the technical work of SAC front-end and back-end development teams.
  • Review solution designs, spot technical risks, and propose changes that improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Support testing, deployment planning, technical documentation, and ongoing improvement of SAC planning capabilities.

Requirements

  • Substantial hands-on experience with SAC, especially in solution architecture, planning model design, and enterprise analytics.
  • A track record of designing and delivering complete SAC planning solutions in complex SAP environments.
  • Deep knowledge of SAC planning models, advanced formulas, data actions, multi-actions, allocations, and version management.
  • A solid grasp of SAC architecture, data connectivity, integration patterns, and performance tuning.
  • Experience connecting SAC to SAP Datasphere, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, or other enterprise data platforms.
  • A good understanding of enterprise planning, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Experience setting technical architecture standards, solution design principles, and data modelling best practices.
  • The ability to turn complex business requirements into scalable architecture and to guide development teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, plus stakeholder management experience across business and IT teams.

Conditions

The role is based in Tokyo and is remote, with travel to Yamagata at the client's request.

Remote work is possible from anywhere in Japan when the client project allows it.

Office base: a temporary office in Shinbashi, or the client or project site.

You receive 25 days of flexibility to work from another global location, subject to the client's permission.

Annual leave is up to 20 days, depending on seniority.

Time off is flexible beyond the standard holiday allowance.

Benefits

  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
  • CHF 1,500 (approx. 280k JPY) per year for professional development.
  • Optional in-house workshops, academies, and training.
  • A 10% annual performance bonus tied to company KPIs.
  • Anniversary bonuses at 5, 10, and 15 years of service.
  • A referral bonus if your referral is hired, up to Director level.
  • A birthday gift from the company.
  • Team budget for meetings and get-togethers.
  • Flat hierarchy with close mentoring from senior leaders.
  • Opportunities for long-term career growth in an international team.
