Description

The company is part of a wider payments group rooted in Europe with global reach. It is a global leader in bank payments, used by over 100,000 businesses, from start-ups to large household brands, to collect, manage and send payments by Direct Debit, real-time payments and open banking.

The company has processed over US$130bn+ a year across 30+ countries. Its platform covers recurring and one-off payments, uses AI to lift payment success and cut fraud, and connects to over 350 platforms that businesses already use.

The company is headquartered in the UK, with teams and operations across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The role sits in the Partnerships area, working with payment providers, software platforms and ecosystems that offer bank payments to their own customers.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for partners, from the first call through to a live integration and ongoing support.
  • Work with the Partnerships team to qualify opportunities, run technical discovery, design the integration and take the partner live.
  • Run technical discovery with current and prospective partners and turn the findings into a clear solution design using the partner APIs, including the embed and connect APIs.
  • Build demos and proofs of concept that show how bank payments work within a partner's product.
  • Guide partners through integration, testing and launch, covering webhooks, failure handling and go-live readiness.
  • Help the Partnerships team shape, qualify and close partner deals.
  • Create reusable assets such as guides, sample code, Postman collections and integration checklists so future integrations move faster.
  • Stay ahead of how partners use the APIs with newer tooling, including MCP and agentic commerce.
  • Explain design choices to partners' technical and commercial teams.

Requirements

  • Experience as a pre-sales, post-sales or implementation engineer working directly with customers or partners.
  • Hands-on API experience, including Postman, reading logs and debugging failing requests.
  • Working knowledge of OAuth, webhooks and common integration patterns.
  • Programming skills in at least one widely used language.
  • A solid grasp of how APIs and MCP servers work.
  • A real advantage: experience building integrations with payment service providers or platforms.
  • A real advantage: knowledge of payments, such as Direct Debit, open banking, cards and alternative payment methods.
  • A real advantage: experience working with platforms or multi-tenant models.
  • A real advantage: daily use of AI tools in your own engineering work.
  • You are likely to fit this role if you enjoy solving problems and digging into detail, learn new systems quickly, ask good questions before proposing answers, and like helping partners grow and build something new.
