Description

The company uses proteomics to study human disease. Its panels let researchers measure thousands of proteins at once from only a few microliters of blood, using validated assays with a wide dynamic range.

The company is hiring an experienced, empathetic manager to lead the Data & Digital Tooling team of software and data engineers. The team sits within the AI & Digital Solutions section and works closely with the AI and DevOps Engineering teams.

The team builds analysis tools and manages data resources so the R&D organisation has the digital solutions it needs for the next generation of products. You will coach team members and support their growth within the company and across the wider digital and software field.

Responsibilities

  • Work with your team to define and build advanced tools for future proteomics discoveries.
  • Partner with AI and DevOps Engineering on complex analysis pipelines, from cloud infrastructure to results.
  • Coach team members and help them progress in their careers.
  • Lead the team in delivering strong technical solutions through agile practices and tooling.

Requirements

  • A master's or PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, biotechnology, or a related engineering field.
  • Preferred: five or more years of relevant industry experience, with proficiency in Python and C or C++.
  • Experience building web applications on cloud platforms.
  • Experience with data platforms or data engineering, or a strong drive to learn it.
  • Ability to work with external technology stakeholders.
  • At least three years in a leadership role such as Manager, Product Owner, or Project Manager.
  • Experience with agile software methods, Jira, and GitHub.
  • A values-driven approach with a natural focus on efficiency and continuous improvement in development and delivery.
  • Proteomics experience is strongly beneficial but not required.
