Description

You will join the simulation team that builds testing and analysis products for autonomous vehicle development. Its users include AV developers checking how their code changes vehicle behavior, data engineers who run evaluation pipelines, and release teams who track key performance metrics.

The team is building the core infrastructure for testing at scale, including test organization, test triggering, test analysis, and the related data pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and scale the systems that run testing and evaluation for vehicle releases and for validating and verifying the autonomous driving stack.
  • Develop and tune data processing pipelines, backend services, and internal tools for large-scale analysis.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of major components and services covering simulation, test execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Build and improve infrastructure that handles large volumes of driving and evaluation data.
  • Keep software delivery reliable through code reviews, automated testing, observability, and continuous integration.
  • Work with other teams to set technical requirements, untangle unclear problems, and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Investigate complex production issues, improve system performance, and keep critical infrastructure running well.
  • Mentor other engineers and help raise the technical bar through sound judgment and solid execution.

Requirements

  • A BS or MS in computer science, robotics, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A track record of building and running high-quality production software.
  • Strong skill in at least one of Python, Go, JavaScript, or C++.
  • Experience designing backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, or distributed systems.
  • Solid grasp of testing, debugging, version control, code review, and system design.
  • Experience with AWS or GCP.
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL and with analytics or warehouse tools such as BigQuery or Redshift.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take ownership in a fast-moving engineering setting and make progress when requirements are unclear.
  • Competitive edge: experience in robotics, AV or ADAS, simulation, or developer infrastructure.
  • Competitive edge: experience building internal platforms, developer tools, or workflow orchestration systems.
  • Competitive edge: experience supporting data scientists or ML or AI engineers through data pipelines and analysis workflows.
  • Competitive edge: familiarity with Node or React.
  • Competitive edge: experience improving reliability, latency, and performance in production systems.
  • Competitive edge: experience developing software for high-scale or safety-critical environments.
  • Competitive edge: interest in scientific analysis, large-scale evaluation, or data-driven engineering workflows.
