Service Engineer

Description

The company makes process analyzers and measurement devices, and this role focuses on keeping them running at customer sites, mostly in pulp and paper plants.

You will be based in Virginia and travel to customer sites across the Atlantic region, mainly in the VA, NC and SC area.

As a link between the customer and the advanced process control group, you will handle day-to-day maintenance and repair of analyzer equipment.

The team is made up of people from many different backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Keep the process analyzers at customer sites performing at their best.
• Meet with customers each day to define the work needed and check on completed jobs.
• Train customers and work with operators on an ongoing basis to confirm equipment performs and is used as intended.
• Carry out sensor correlations.
• Handle preventive and corrective maintenance and fault diagnosis, including daily cleaning and performance checks.
• Support customers in emergencies and remotely by phone or internet.
• Write quality reports.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or associate's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Chemical or Paper engineering, plus relevant experience.
• A background in instrumentation and controls.
• A solid understanding of paper making processes.
• Good working knowledge of Windows and networking, and familiarity with Word and Excel.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate at every level of an organization.
• The ability to use tools correctly and safely.
• The ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Strong fault-finding skills and close attention to detail.
• The ability to manage your time and work with little or no supervision.

Conditions

Based in Virginia, with work at multiple customer sites across the Atlantic region.

You must live in the US and be authorized to work there. This role is not open to international relocation.
