Description

The company designs sustainable financial services and wants them shaped around the people who use them. This role helps the team understand those people and design with them in mind.

You join an international group of UX designers, UI designers, service designers and UX writers, but your work spans the whole organization and supports colleagues across Europe.

The company is part of the family-owned Bertelsmann group. It runs 30 hybrid workspaces and has over 4,000 staff from almost 80 nationalities in 11 countries.

It offers flexible payments across many industries, makes finances simpler for well-known brands, and helps people pay off debt and gain financial confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the user experience of the company's consumer services across every customer touchpoint and channel.
  • Report to the Design Lead, Consumer, and work with a consumer team made up of UX designers, service designers, researchers and UX writers.
  • Run user research and turn findings into wireframes, prototypes and final designs that meet user needs and business goals.
  • Gather and analyze the information you need to create a design and justify it.
  • Build end-to-end flows that guide users through a product or service, along with wireframes and prototypes you can test.
  • Check that a design does what it was meant to do.
  • Review user feedback and performance data to keep improving the experience.
  • Contribute to the design system with high-fidelity designs and UI components.
  • Work with product, tech and your manager to keep your designs aligned with business initiatives.
  • Speak up for customers, build a strong design culture and encourage a human-centric approach.

Requirements

  • Skill in user research, spotting user needs and turning them into clear, useful design solutions.
  • Experience running full product design work from first ideas to final build, while respecting business goals and technical limits.
  • Skill in creating wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
  • Ability to work with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to drive innovation and deliver strong experiences in a quick-moving environment.
  • Solid grasp of interaction design, information architecture and usability best practice, with a focus on smooth flows and intuitive interfaces.
  • Ability to run usability tests, gather feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including explaining design decisions and arguing for user-centered solutions.
  • Strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills to turn complex user requirements into design approaches and estimates.
  • Especially exciting to us, though not required: experience mentoring junior designers and helping the design team grow.
  • Especially exciting, though not required: experience working with several designers and stakeholders toward shared goals across complex product ecosystems.
  • Especially exciting, though not required: experience with financial services or fintech products.
  • Especially exciting, though not required: familiarity with product frameworks and development technologies.
  • Especially exciting, though not required: experience with B2B, B2C and/or B2B2C products.
  • Especially exciting, though not required: familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and how to apply them in design.
  • We are also keen to help you learn if some of these are new to you, and you can apply even if you do not meet every item.
