Description

The company is a next-generation global media and entertainment business with three segments: studios, direct-to-consumer, and TV media.

The digital news team is hiring a senior technical program manager to lead delivery and ongoing improvement of key products in its digital portfolio.

You will lead delivery for three Scrum teams in the Platforms group and set the delivery approach for your program area. You will work with product, design, engineering and several organizational stakeholders to ship features and enhancements on time, from planning through execution, in line with strategic goals, relevant industry standards and high reliability.

The focus is roadmap delivery and dependency management for the Editorial Experience group.

You will need a working understanding of system architecture and the ability to drive integrations across the CMS and distribution endpoints, with an eye on scale and automation. You will translate user needs for the teams, balance priorities against business needs, and help teams work through tradeoffs. You will also look at end-to-end systems to reduce delivery gaps and build stronger ties with end users and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end technical program management for the CMS, editorial workflows and editorial tools that multiple digital products depend on, including the multi-quarter roadmap and its dependencies.
  • Write program plans tied to product roadmaps, organizational goals and user needs, covering scope, milestones, success measures and resourcing.
  • Set delivery standards and the operating model for the Editorial Experience group, and coach TPMs and delivery leads in program management.
  • Coordinate with dependent and external partner teams: confirm their requirements are defined, manage dependencies, and secure high-quality delivery on schedule.
  • Keep communication clear and consistent with all stakeholders.
  • Lead technical discussions with engineering on architecture, solution design and testing.
  • Sequence delivery across teams, setting release plans, launch criteria and go/no-go checkpoints for each milestone.
  • Monitor progress, resolve conflicts early and adjust timelines to keep work on track.
  • Find and manage risks and dependencies that could threaten timing.
  • Design and refine workflows that help Scrum teams collaborate from ideation through release.
  • Run regular leadership updates, such as executive briefings and steering committees, so decisions are timely and based on data.
  • Hold retrospectives and post-incident reviews, record lessons and feed them into the next round of process changes.
  • Act as the main contact for executives, partner organizations and external vendors, reporting on risks, progress and strategic changes, and escalating with a recommended action.
  • Build relationships across functions, influence outcomes without direct authority, and push for fast decisions.
  • Represent the program in cross-organizational planning, negotiating scope, sequencing and resourcing with partner teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or business, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in technology.
  • 5+ years in program or technical program management, delivering complex software programs across multiple teams.
  • A record of independently owning large cross-platform programs in a fast-moving setting, including ones with unclear requirements or competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Solid grasp of system architecture, content management systems, media supply chain and video encoding, and the ability to lead technical solutioning and architecture meetings.
  • Experience using AI tools and services for program and development work.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum, plus traditional project management frameworks.
  • Skill at balancing competing priorities, anticipating roadblocks and coordinating cross-functional resources.
  • Hands-on use of standard project management tools such as Jira, Confluence and similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to tailor communication to different audiences and goals so the message is clear, aligned and effective.
  • Proven record of influencing teams and stakeholders at every level, including executives, without direct authority.
  • Experience mentoring program or project managers and raising the delivery bar across a group or organization.
  • Comfortable using data and analytics to make decisions, measure results and refine solutions.
  • Good at spotting, ranking and reducing risk in complex technical settings.
  • Bias for action: you take initiative, clear blockers and push work forward with urgency and ownership.
  • Interest in media, news and technology, and commitment to innovation and excellence.
  • Team player who lives the values of integrity, collaboration and user focus.
  • Extra points if you can write Python or JavaScript scripts to query databases or build dashboards.
