The company is hiring a Field Project Manager to help deliver mission-critical data center construction projects.
You act as an extension of the Owner's Representative team, giving daily oversight of the field, including construction work, contractor performance, handoffs between parties, schedule, quality, commissioning readiness and turnover. You are the owner's on-site representative and work with contractors, consultants, vendors, commissioning teams, operations staff and other stakeholders to deliver the project safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Spend time in the field and check work against contract documents, approved submittals, design intent, project requirements and the plan.
Judge daily and weekly progress, confirm reported completion, and flag emerging issues that could affect cost, schedule, safety, quality, commissioning or operational readiness early.
Walk the site and send photo-backed updates on progress, quality, safety and schedule risk across civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, low-voltage, connectivity and white space work.
Manage the interfaces between base-building, tenant fit-out, retrofit and live-facility work, covering access, logistics, deliveries, work zones, temporary conditions and phased turnover.
Coordinate field activity among the owner, general contractor, fit-out contractor, direct vendors, commissioning team and third parties.
Run pre-construction readiness walks to confirm work areas, materials, logistics, permits, SOPs and required procedures are in place before work begins.
Support MOPs, shutdowns, notifications, energization, startup, commissioning and other critical work.
Track schedule performance, critical activities, look-aheads, constraints and recovery options day to day.
Check contractor progress claims against actual field conditions and raise schedule deviations or risks early.
Track RFIs, submittals, procurement, OFCI equipment, owner-direct vendors, inspections and decisions that affect field execution.
Follow owner-furnished equipment from delivery through installation, including receipt checks, storage, damage reporting, inventory and chain of custody.
Align customer or tenant fit-out milestones with base-building completion, commissioning and turnover.
Record significant events, differing conditions, rework, access limits, logistics concerns and potential change conditions.
Oversee contractor QA/QC and safety practices and escalate deficiencies quickly.
Take part in site walks, QA/QC inspections, punch-list reviews, testing and corrective-action checks.
Confirm installations match approved drawings, specifications, submittals, equipment requirements and design intent.
Monitor structured cabling, fiber, network pathways, labeling, test records and connectivity readiness for network turn-up.
Support commissioning from startup through integrated systems testing, and confirm prerequisites are complete before testing and energization.
Make sure MOPs, change control procedures and site safety requirements are set before work starts in energized or operational areas.
Check pay applications, change requests, buyout information and field quantities against actual site conditions and progress.
Lead or support OAC and field coordination meetings, weekly reports, meeting minutes, action items and executive-level field status reports.
Gather field input from construction, commissioning, network, security, operations and supply chain teams so leadership decides on accurate information.
Coordinate closeout: punch lists, O&M manuals, training, turnover documents, permits, AHJ inspections, certificates of occupancy, operational readiness and financial closeout.
Support vendor escorts, audits, client visits and stakeholder walkthroughs while protecting site security, safety and operating requirements.
Requirements

Past work as a Field Manager, Field Engineer, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Construction Manager, Owner's Representative, Project Engineer or a similar construction leadership role.
Solid knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, procurement, quality control, safety, commissioning and closeout.
