  • Align systems, software, hardware, integration, product and commercial teams on a shared direction.
  • Create and spread systems engineering methods, standards and good practice across the Digital Electronics organization.
  • Identify, assess and reduce major technical, architecture and integration risks.

  • Coach senior engineers and technical leads and grow systems engineering skill across the organization.
  • Present systems engineering views in executive reviews, planning sessions, customer meetings and investment discussions.
  • Take on work outside your core function or trade when asked, with training provided where needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a closely related technical field.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 12+ years of growing responsibility in systems engineering, solution architecture, integration engineering or complex technology development.
  • A track record leading architecture and systems engineering on large, multi-product solutions.
  • Deep command of systems engineering, including requirements, architecture, verification, validation and lifecycle management.
  • Experience setting solution-level standards, methods and engineering best practice.
  • Solid grasp of integrating software, hardware, communications, cloud, infrastructure and operational technology.
  • Advanced skill with requirements and traceability tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next Generation or an equivalent.
  • The ability to shape strategic technical decisions across several organizations without formal authority.
  • A history of resolving complex technical, operational and integration problems with major business impact.
  • Railroad, transportation, industrial automation or mission-critical systems experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading technically across geographically spread teams.
  • Strong executive-level communication, stakeholder management and technical presentation skills.
