Responsibilities

  • Design measurement plans with success and guardrail metrics, sample sizes, test durations and statistical significance.
  • Design XDM schemas and dataset ingestion, and set up streaming, edge and batch segmentation, audience evaluation and activation in AEP.
  • Configure the Identity Service, identity namespaces and ECIDs so customer profiles stitch correctly.
  • Implement and configure AEP Web SDK, datastreams, edge decisioning and personalization, and inspect network payloads and server responses to confirm data reaches datasets and downstream tools.
  • Architect, evaluate and implement data layers in Adobe Launch/Tags and Google Tag Manager, including rule conditions, custom extensions, data elements and tag firing.
  • Trace data from the browser through the data layer, tags, Adobe Edge, AEP, datasets and reporting or activation, and fix JavaScript errors, cookie and storage issues, identity problems, duplicate events, data loss and reporting gaps.
  • Explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, present architecture, and challenge requirements to balance business goals with feasibility and maintainability.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in marketing technology, web analytics, personalization, experimentation, or technical consulting or engineering.
  • Deep experience building, implementing and QA-ing A/B and multivariate tests, including VEC, form-based activities, custom code, Target Recommendations and profile scripts.
  • Solid grasp of experimentation method: testable hypotheses, success and guardrail metrics, sample size, test duration and statistical significance.
  • Familiarity implementing through Adobe Launch/Tags, at.js and/or AEP Web SDK.
  • Working knowledge of XDM schemas, dataset ingestion, and source and destination connections.
  • Experience with streaming, edge and batch segmentation, audience evaluation and activation.
  • In-depth understanding of the AEP Identity Service, identity namespaces, ECID and customer identifiers, and how they affect profile stitching.
  • Clear sense of when event data or profile attributes should be used.
  • Hands-on AEP Web SDK implementation and troubleshooting across datastreams, identity, decisioning and personalization, with expertise debugging event payloads and network requests in browser DevTools.
  • Hands-on work with Adobe Launch/Tags and Google Tag Manager, deep understanding of data layer design, rule conditions, extensions and data elements, and a proven ability to trace data from the data layer into analytics and marketing platforms.
  • Strong JavaScript skills for reading, writing and debugging custom code.
  • Comfortable with HTML and CSS for building test variations and fixing rendering and styling issues.
  • Deep browser debugging skills: console errors, network requests, cookies, local and session storage, and cross-browser behaviour.
  • Proven ability to diagnose identity issues, event duplication, data loss, audience qualification bugs and inconsistent reporting.
  • Preferred: prior client-facing, consulting or agency experience, with proven ability to lead discovery, present solutions and manage technical communication.

Conditions

Reports to the Engineering Director or Practice Lead, Marketing Technology and Personalization.

Works day to day with developers, analysts, data architects, QA engineers and client engagement teams, and with client developers, analysts, product managers, marketing leads and business stakeholders.
