Description

The company designs, builds and runs the largest fleet of imaging satellites ever flown, and sells the data through a cloud platform to commercial, environmental and humanitarian customers.

Because the company builds its own hardware, runs its own manufacturing, and writes its own data processing and software, the office brings together specialists from many fields.

Customers use the data to build new technologies, grow revenue, support research and tackle large problems on Earth.

The company is global, with staff working remotely worldwide and based in offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and The Netherlands.

This is a pre-sales role for the US Defense and Intelligence market, where you help organizations apply Earth observation data to their problems by designing demonstrations and proposals, and you act as the customer's voice inside the company.

  • Write the technical sections of tender responses, RFIs, RFPs and unsolicited proposals.
  • Work with sales colleagues to set the technical strategy for customer and prospect account plans and to guide how accounts are pursued.
  • Work with Customer Success, Product Management and Business Development to represent the customer, and help prepare and submit RFPs and RFIs.
  • Meet the quarterly and annual sales and operational targets set by management.
  • Report to Sales leadership on forecasts, pipeline, deal reviews, CRM data and customer feedback for Defense and Intelligence customers.
  • Present to senior government executives in the US Federal Government.
  • Mentor team members and lead their training.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with GIS and remote sensing users in the defense industry.
  • Experience with IMINT, ISR and related fields.
  • Experience with QGIS, SocetGXP, ArcGIS, GDAL, Python, other common geospatial software and programming languages, and emerging technologies such as AI and ML.
  • Experience designing and presenting complex systems that connect business problems to technology, within organizational goals, budget and scalability needs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to juggle several tasks, set priorities and manage your time well.
  • Ability to process imagery, work with geospatial data, use APIs and build data pipelines.
  • Ability to lead technical customer engagements.
  • Ability to run workshops or training sessions for users.
  • Required: ability to obtain and keep eligibility for a US Government TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Required: ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without an export license from the Bureau of Industry and Security or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Hiring is contingent on this access.
