Senior Solution Engineer

Description

The role sits in the European Global Solution Consulting team of a wholly owned subsidiary of a US bank.

The company builds platforms and ecosystems for over 1.5 million customers worldwide, spanning transaction processing, customer service, innovation and new product launches, all built on current payment technology.

As the senior technical lead in Pre-Sales and Solution Engineering, you will run strategic customer work and advise enterprise customers, partners and senior internal stakeholders.

The role is highly visible. You will combine payments depth, technical leadership and commercial judgement to shape some of Europe's largest and most complex payment deals, helping customers get full value from the company's products, platforms and services.

Beyond live opportunities, you will help shape Solution Engineering across Europe through thought leadership, mentoring and building scalable technical consulting practice, working with Sales, Product, Engineering, Professional Services and Integration teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy for enterprise and strategic payment opportunities.
• Design scalable payment and integration solutions for customers and partners.
• Be the subject matter expert for acquiring, payment gateways, APIs, e-commerce and omnichannel.
• Run technical workshops, solution presentations and executive briefings.
• Support RFPs, customer bids and complex solution design.
• Work with Sales, Product, Engineering and Professional Services to deliver good outcomes.
• Mentor Solution Engineers and help grow the European Solution Engineering practice.
• Keep up with payment technology and industry trends.

Requirements

• Extensive background in payments, acquiring, gateways, fintech or payment technology.
• Solid grasp of payment ecosystems, transaction processing, APIs and integration architecture.
• Track record supporting enterprise customers and complex technical sales.
• Skill in turning business needs into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience presenting to technical and executive audiences.
• Drive to solve hard problems and help customers succeed.
