Senior Software Engineer with React and Node.js

Description

The client is a technology provider in retail, building point-of-sale and store operations software used by retailers in several markets.

The company is headquartered in Cluj-Napoca, with an office in Oradea. It has 20 years of experience, more than 1,200 IT professionals, and works with clients in Retail, Manufacturing, Finance and Banking across the full digital lifecycle, from ideation and requirements to software development and managed services.

Responsibilities

• Build complex, responsive user interfaces using the project's framework.
• Write clean, testable code with unit and e2e tests, and review your peers' code.
• Shape component structure, state management and API integration on the frontend.
• Improve load times and rendering performance.
• Make sure the interface meets accessibility standards and guard against XSS and similar threats.
• Ensure consistent behaviour across browsers and devices.
• Turn UX designs into working UI and agree API contracts with the backend team.
• Coach junior developers and share frontend best practices.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with React, TypeScript and Node.js.
• Strong experience with GraphQL.
• Experience with CSS-in-JS using PandaCSS.
• Experience building shared components and a design system with Storybook.
• Testing experience with Playwright and Jest.
• Experience implementing and testing to WCAG-aligned accessibility standards.
• Comfortable in a monorepo, using GitHub and GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with Google Cloud.
• Experience with the Contentful headless CMS.
• Experience running A/B tests with Optimizely.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to speak up in discussions.
• Able to work independently, take ownership of tasks and make decisions on your own.
• Use AI tools regularly to boost productivity, automate repetitive work, support decisions and improve output quality.
• Use AI tools responsibly: write effective prompts, critically check outputs, understand their limits, and own the final result.
