Mid Java Fullstack Engineer (JavaScript/TypeScript Frontend)

Description

The company was founded in Switzerland in 1968, is owned by its partners, and has offices across Europe and Asia. It works as a transformation partner for clients, combining strategy, technology implementation and operational services, with a focus on complex, regulated sectors such as health and finance.

The team builds purpose-built business applications for international public sector clients, working across tech strategy, digital solutions and device and systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Help design and build business applications for international public sector clients.
• Take part in the full product lifecycle, from an early idea through development to go-live.
• Work closely with clients to understand their business domain and project needs, and bring forward new ideas as a trusted partner.
• Build solutions with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus on the backend, and JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as Angular, React, Vue or Svelte on the frontend, together with Kafka and DevOps tooling.
• Use GenAI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to work faster and improve your craft.
• Learn from experienced software engineers and architects through daily exchange, and gradually take on more responsibility on projects.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable field.
• At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Java and backend development.
• Experience building backend applications and services with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• At least 1 year of professional frontend development with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks. Experience with Angular, React, Vue, Svelte or similar is valued, and you are happy to pick up different frontend stacks as client needs require.
• Experience with Kafka or other event-driven or message-based architectures is highly valued.
• A DevOps mindset, with a grasp of high code quality, automated testing and modern engineering practices.
• Eagerness to learn and drive to reach ambitious goals within a team.
• Enjoy working directly with customers and taking part in technical and business discussions.
• Fluent English.
• Willingness to travel to clients in countries such as Switzerland and Germany when required.

Conditions

Based in Portugal with the legal right to work there. No visa sponsorship or relocation support is offered for this role at this stage.
