Software Engineer with React and Node.js

Description

The company builds modern point-of-sale and store operations software for retailers across several markets.

It has 20 years of experience, more than 1,200 IT professionals, and its headquarters in Cluj-Napoca with an office in Oradea.

Besides retail, it serves clients in manufacturing, finance and banking, supporting them from early ideation and requirements through to software development and managed services.

Responsibilities

• Build complex, responsive user interfaces within the project's framework.
• Write clean, testable code covered by unit and end-to-end tests, and review teammates' code.
• Shape frontend component structure, state handling and API integration.
• Improve page load times and rendering speed.
• Make sure interfaces meet accessibility requirements and guard against XSS and similar risks.
• Deliver consistent behaviour across browsers and devices.
• Turn UX designs into working UI and agree API contracts with the backend team.
• Mentor junior developers and share frontend best practices.

Requirements

• Strong command of React, TypeScript, Node.js and GraphQL.
• Experience with CSS-in-JS using PandaCSS.
• Experience building components and a design system in Storybook, including shared frontend components.
• Experience testing with Playwright and Jest.
• Experience implementing and testing WCAG-aligned accessibility.
• Working knowledge of a monorepo, GitHub and GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with Google Cloud.
• Experience with the Contentful headless CMS.
• Experience with Optimizely for A/B testing.
• Strong communication skills and readiness to take an active part in discussions.
• Self-directed, able to work independently and take ownership of tasks and decisions.
• Regular use of AI tools to boost productivity, automate or cut repetitive work, support decisions and raise output quality.
• Use AI tools responsibly: write effective prompts, check outputs critically, understand their limits and own the final result.
