Technical Product Owner with German

Description

The company is hiring a German-speaking Product Owner to help set up and grow a dedicated cloud service team that supports a live Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Landing Zone.

You will work with client stakeholders, an Architect, and DevOps and service specialists to turn business needs into a ranked roadmap and backlog. Early work centres on discovery, operational readiness, and a service model that holds up as the first application workloads come on board.

Alongside the Landing Zone, you will help shape and test a wider Cloud Broker concept, looking at how standard cloud capabilities can serve application teams and requests that involve external partners.

It supports clients across the full digital journey, from ideation and requirements through software development to managed services. It employs more than 1,200 IT professionals.

Responsibilities

• Own and rank the product and service backlog, weighing workload onboarding, operational needs, reusable capabilities and long-term development.
• Run discovery with client stakeholders and technical experts to pin down scope, dependencies, responsibilities and success criteria.
• Convert business and operational requirements into backlog items with clear acceptance criteria.
• Work with the Architect to plan the roadmap for standardized cloud services and reusable Terraform modules.
• Coordinate the operational service model: daily operations, incident escalation, possible 24/7 coverage, on-call arrangements and response-time requirements.
• Keep the company service team, client stakeholders, application teams and relevant partners in regular contact.
• Define ownership and handoffs across organisational boundaries, including work with the client's GCP IAM owner.
• Develop Cloud Broker use cases and check service feasibility, dependencies and expected delivery times through concrete scenarios.
• Define and monitor measures of service value and performance, such as onboarding lead time, service adoption, delivery predictability and agreed operational targets.
• Help delivery and commercial stakeholders move from an initial time-and-materials discovery phase to a clearly scoped service and pricing model.
• Guide the gradual growth of the team and service scope in line with proven demand and delivery experience.

Requirements

• Experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner or Service Owner for cloud platforms, infrastructure or managed services.
• Working knowledge of GCP and Landing Zone concepts, enough to discuss requirements, dependencies and trade-offs with technical specialists.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, and the value of reusable modules and standard services.
• Experience building roadmaps, prioritizing backlogs and writing acceptance criteria in an Agile delivery setting.
• Familiarity with production service operations, incident management, escalation processes, service levels and on-call models.
• Ability to turn an evolving concept into a practical service scope, delivery priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills, including coordination across client, delivery and partner organizations.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to link scope and service expectations to capacity and cost.
• Regular use of AI tools to raise productivity, automate or reduce repetitive work, support decisions and produce better results.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly: writing effective prompts, critically checking outputs, understanding their limits, and owning the final result.
• Professional working proficiency in German and English.
• Experience setting up a dedicated service team or moving a cloud platform into a managed operating model.
• Exposure to multi-cloud environments, particularly GCP and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with cloud service catalogs, platform products or Cloud Broker models.
• Familiarity with enterprise application onboarding and organisational ownership boundaries.
• Relevant Product Owner, cloud or IT service management certifications.
