Description

The team builds cloud-native bare-metal orchestration platforms for AI neo-cloud environments, and much of the work happens in open-source projects that you would help contribute to.

Each engineer has deep expertise in one main area and working knowledge of neighboring systems. This supports design reviews, cross-domain code reviews and on-call coverage.

The primary control plane is written in Rust and Go, uses Kubernetes operators, and is operated with an OpenTelemetry-first approach.

The company is a Kubernetes-native AI infrastructure company.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain production-grade control plane microservices, custom Kubernetes operators and reconciliation engines in Rust and Go.
  • Write functional and non-functional requirements, architecture specs, system sequence diagrams, and gRPC/Protobuf and REST API schemas.
  • Build integration modules for modern network operating systems such as SONiC, NVUE and Cumulus, and for DPU hardware platforms.
  • Instrument services end to end with OpenTelemetry traces and metrics, and carry out systematic root-cause analysis across distributed systems in several languages.
  • Take part in pull request reviews across Rust, Go and SQL codebases, and keep test coverage high through mock-driven testing.

Requirements

  • Required: a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Required: 5+ years of software engineering in cloud-native platforms or systems programming.
  • Required: deep Rust skills, including Tokio, Tonic, Axum and sqlx, plus working knowledge of Go.
  • Required: strong grasp of async concurrency, lock-free patterns and distributed state, with discipline in mock-driven testing.
  • Required: experience designing gRPC/Protobuf contracts with tonic and prost, and evolving schemas using zero-copy serialization and compile-time type generation.
  • Required: experience writing Kubernetes controllers or operators with kube-rs, using CRD-driven reconciliation loops.
  • Required: test-driven design habits, writing testable code with mock interfaces for external dependencies.
  • Required: a record of writing clear architecture specs and taking part in cross-functional design reviews.
  • Desired: advanced SQL and PostgreSQL skills.
  • Desired: knowledge of BGP, MP-BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, L3VNI, route targets and route server design, with hands-on work on SONiC, Cumulus Linux and NVUE, including a first-class NVUE client.
  • Desired: understanding of NVIDIA DOCA, Host-Based Networking (HBN), BlueField DPU architectures and the DPF operator model (BFB, DPUSet, DPUNode CRDs).
  • Desired: familiarity with InfiniBand, NVLink and NMX-M partitioning, and RoCEv2.
  • Desired: advanced understanding of Linux netlink, network namespaces, routing tables, and the internal DHCP and DNS services the project ships.
  • Desired: knowledge of CNI plugins such as Calico and Cilium. OVS and DPDK experience is a plus.
  • Desired: familiarity with automated bare-metal provisioning and lifecycle management, which is a strong asset.
  • Desired: expertise in PXE/iPXE, UEFI, Secure Boot, measured boot and TPM attestation.
  • Desired: proficiency with Redfish, IPMI and BMC abstractions across Dell, Lenovo and NVIDIA reference hardware.
  • Desired: in-depth knowledge of boot chains, systemd, initramfs and BIOS configuration matrices.
  • Desired: practical experience with PKI, X.509, TLS, SPIFFE/SVID, Vault, KMS, Keycloak (OAuth2/JWT) and RBAC.
  • Desired: experience with KubeVirt or KVM.
  • Desired: experience building Kubernetes operators with kube-rs or controller-runtime, using CRD-driven reconciliation loops.
  • Desired: contributions to, or maintenance of, open-source systems projects.
