Role Overview

As a Privacy Software Engineer, you will operate as a key cross-functional contributor outside of a single dedicated pod. Working in close collaboration with the Identity team and a dedicated Product Manager, your mission is to embed privacy deeply into our engineering DNA.

This role requires navigating a very wide and complex codebase to develop and enhance our privacy capabilities. You will help balance urgent legal and compliance priorities with a long-term, resilient privacy architecture. Crucially, you must possess a strong business acumen to understand how technical privacy choices impact our production environment and overarching business goals, ensuring seamless integration without compromising performance.

Responsibilities

  • Privacy by Design & Cross-Team Enablement: Communicate effectively across engineering units—especially feature teams—to advocate for and implement "Privacy by Design," ensuring seamless integration of privacy protocols across our stack.
  • Codebase Navigation & Architecture: Dive into a broad, diverse codebase to develop new privacy capabilities, auditing existing systems and creating tech solutions that handle data privacy efficiently at true scale.
  • Strategic vs. Urgent Execution: Navigate the tension between urgent compliance/regulatory priorities and a long-term, resilient privacy vision, ensuring our technical foundations are built to last.
  • Business Impact & Analytics: Apply a strong business understanding to assess the production impact of your technical privacy choices. You will design, build, and maintain the right data pipelines and analytics required to monitor and measure these impacts in real-time.
  • Legal & Product Collaboration: Partner closely with a dedicated Privacy Product Manager to translate complex legal issues and regional laws into scalable, actionable technical requirements.
  • What will you bring to the team?
  • Good programming abilities. Testing your code is second nature to you. You are mindful of your application’s architecture, performance, maintainability, and overall quality.
  • Familiarity with large, high-throughput, distributed systems, and connecting together and processing large amounts of data
  • Analytical and experimental mindset in any feature or project you’ll ship to production. You like to prove an idea first before you invest large amounts of effort into development.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse global team. You are an active listener and a dialogue facilitator, you know how to explain your decision and like sharing your knowledge.
  • Multiple shipped projects in Software Engineering.
  • Production knowledge and practices (Release, Observability, Troubleshooting…), thanks to multiple shipped projects / applications. Strong problem-solving skills.
  • We care about you:
  • Career Development: Continuous investment in our employees’ skills: in-house and external training, internal mobility
  • Life Balance: A well-balanced work-life for our employees is one of our top priorities: 22 days off per year, 15 days per year of work from anywhere, hybrid work (3 days per week in the office)
  • Wellness: Prioritizing employee well-being through premium work equipment, enjoyable work environment (work-life balance, team building events, summits), work from home subsidy, promoting Diversity & Inclusion with internal & external initiatives, etc.
  • Please submit your CV in English.
  • Life at Teads
  • At Teads, we don’t just offer jobs. We blend creativity, technology, and cutting-edge data to shape the future of media.
  • As a Teadster, you’ll work alongside smart humans, collaborate with meaningful brands, and leverage advanced AI and automation to redefine how advertising works in a transparent, privacy-first world.
  • We are builders, innovators, and future-thinkers. If you are excited by the evolution of technology and ready to embrace the future of AI-driven media, you belong here.

Benefits

  • A New Era of Media: We’ve merged two open internet category leaders, Outbrain and Teads to create a unified omnichannel platform. Together, we drive results from branding to performance across CTV, mobile, and web.
  • AI-Powered Innovation: We actively embrace AI and next-gen technology to solve complex industry challenges. We look for curious minds who aren't afraid to experiment, adapt, and lead the charge into the future of digital advertising.
  • Growth & High Performance: Our culture is dynamic, global, and built on excellence. We are committed to your success, offering the modern tools, mentorship, and development opportunities you need to thrive.
  • Belonging & Impact: We foster a welcoming, diverse environment where approachable, resourceful, and passionate people excel. Through our employee-led Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), you can actively drive change in areas like sustainability, women’s empowerment, charitable initiatives, and DE&I.
