Senior Product Experience Designer

Description

The company runs payments, data and financial products in one platform for large merchants such as Meta, Uber, H&M and Microsoft.

The role sits in the In-Person Payments and Localized Payment teams, based in the Chicago office.

You will shape interfaces across payment terminals, mobile SDKs and regional checkout flows worldwide, turning complicated backend and hardware limits into interfaces people can use.

Responsibilities

• Own the full user journeys linking in-person touchpoints such as payment terminals, SoftPOS (Tap to Pay) and mobile SDKs with regional checkout variants in EMEA, LATAM, APAC and North America.
• Turn intricate payment logic into product flows that are clear and easy to follow.
• Lead screen layout details for compact terminal displays, merchant onboarding and localized checkout components, focusing on visual hierarchy, micro-interactions and polish.
• Work daily with product managers and engineering leads, from early discovery through delivery, explaining your design reasoning while balancing hardware and API limits against merchant and shopper needs.
• Find experience debt and usability bugs on high-traffic in-person and localized surfaces, and help build and apply shared design systems for consistency, accessibility and visual quality across devices and web.
• Simplify layered configurations such as regional scheme rules, local tax IDs, terminal branding profiles and offline transaction limits into self-serve interactions.
• Link the IPP hardware teams, regional go-to-market teams and global platform designers, documenting design patterns and sharing local context so designs scale globally and still fit locally.
• Scan the industry for new product experience methods, tools and technologies, including AI and LLMs, and bring the useful ones into the design framework and daily work.

Requirements

• 6+ years designing complex, large-scale systems and end-to-end mobile products for iOS and Android, with a record of impact across several product areas.
• Confidence presenting to senior business and technical stakeholders, turning complex user ecosystems and technical trade-offs into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong strategic thinking and craft. You guide others through example and shared architectural standards rather than through seniority.
• Comfort working on undefined problems, turning organizational challenges into clear, scalable frameworks that teams can carry out.

Conditions

Full-time role based in the Chicago office.

The company is office-first. You are expected to work in the office at least 3 days a week on average.

Annual base salary range is $180,000 - $250,000, set by qualifications, experience and location.
