Senior Product Designer – Cards

Description

Join the Cards domain to design banking experiences that customers use every day.

The role centres on a new banking product being brought to market across two product teams, and on improving the company's existing card products and services.

You will build on existing concepts, map out customer journeys, and help shape how customers use the new product.

The company wants someone who questions current ways of working, finds room for improvement, and works with Product and Engineering on solutions.

The role is based in Valencia, working with your product teams and the Design team in Berlin. You decide on design choices and can challenge existing approaches, within a team that shares ideas and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Own design work across two product teams, covering card onboarding, card management, and related services.
• Design customer journeys for a new banking product, building on existing concepts and preparing them for implementation.
• Review existing designs and concepts, find gaps and open questions, and push the work forward.
• Design user flows, interactions, and interfaces, covering states, edge cases, and the detail developers need.
• Apply WCAG, BFSG, and other relevant accessibility and legal requirements throughout the design process.
• Find ways to improve existing card experiences, using customer feedback, research, and data, and validate proposals with Product.
• Set priorities across both teams, explain trade-offs, and flag dependencies and risks early.
• Work with Product, Engineering, Business, and Legal/Compliance to clarify requirements, test assumptions, and agree solutions.
• Plan and run workshops and design reviews where they help teams decide or resolve open questions.
• Work with other designers to keep card products and services consistent, and share what you learn.
• Keep your Design Manager and the Berlin Design team updated, share progress, ask for feedback, and involve others early in key decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Product Design, ideally on complex digital products or mobile applications.
• A portfolio showing how you tackle design problems, make decisions, work with others, and what your work has achieved.
• Strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills, including end-to-end customer journeys and handover to development.
• Experience designing accessible digital products to WCAG standards and applying accessibility requirements in your work.
• Proficiency in Figma and experience with design systems.
• Ability to work through unclear or shifting requirements, manage priorities, and make design decisions on your own.
• Experience working with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver solutions.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, including sharing work, asking for feedback, explaining decisions, and involving others.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Plus: experience in banking, fintech, insurance, or another regulated industry.
• Plus: German language skills.
