Description

Our Global Structure

The company is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities as one global team.

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation and growth drive everything we do. Our Product team defines how millions of people experience the company, turning complex marketplace challenges into simple, high-impact solutions. Working at the intersection of data, design and engineering, we set direction, prioritise what matters most, and deliver outcomes that move the business forward.

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer (Motion) to join our London team. In this role, you’ll lead the shift toward build-first motion design, establishing principles and systems that elevate craft and expression across our global product surfaces.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining the Studio Central team. Studio Central is a net-new global Product Design team sitting at the intersection of product, brand, and innovation, supporting the company, DoorDash, Wolt, and 7Rooms. We own how brand shows up in the product experience, partnering closely with Marketing and Product teams to shape cohesive, high-quality work and define the future state of design across our portfolio.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

Strategy, Systems & Influence

Define the point of view and motion principles for how branded moments behave across products, elevating customer, rider, and merchant experiences.

Build reusable motion systems, expression frameworks, animated component libraries, and AI-assisted tooling to empower designers across all brands to ship high-quality motion independently.

Establish motion as a core discipline within Studio Central, creating the rituals, crits, and guidelines required to scale the capability past a single person.

Partner with Product Design teams across Consumer, Ads & Promo, Rider, Merchant, and New Verticals, using working prototypes rather than slide decks to advocate for in-product motion.

Execution & Delivery

Lead key brand moments from concept to execution, partnering with visual designers to take early directions through to production-ready, code-shippable motion (Lottie/dotLottie, CSS/JS animation, native transitions).

Navigate undefined, ambiguous spaces to establish design standards and processes across in-house teams, agencies, and cross-functional partners in Engineering and Marketing.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in motion and visual craft at a systems level, with a track record of scaling frameworks or guidelines across multiple surfaces, products, or teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to move fluidly between art direction and execution, prototyping in tools like After Effects, Lottie, or Rive and delivering production-ready motion in code.
  • Strong capability to navigate ambiguous, complex environments and create clarity through shipped prototypes and hands-on work rather than presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience building structures from scratch, taking initiative to propose frameworks, guidelines, and operating models.
  • Proactive mindset toward emerging technology, treating new tools and techniques as experiments to iterate on and ship quickly.

Benefits

  • At the company, you’ll do work that matters, solving real-world problems in a three-sided marketplace that’s constantly evolving.
  • We’re food lovers, problem solvers, community builders and more, brought together by a shared drive to make things better. Working here you can expect to:
  • Solve meaningful problems at real scale Work on a complex, always-on marketplace that impacts millions every day.
  • See your impact, fast Ship, test and improve ideas quickly in a low-hierarchy, high-ownership environment.
  • Grow through challenge and ownership Take on big, ambiguous problems and accelerate your career with strong support.
  • A culture built for builders High standards, collaboration, flexible working and continuous learning.
  • Share in the success you help create Competitive salary and equity options, so you’re rewarded for the impact you make.
