Description

This is a remote role, so you will mostly work from home.

The company helps businesses connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications across the edge and cloud. Its networking group sells AI-driven products that modernize infrastructure, improve user experience and secure links between users, sites, apps and information.

You will join the Federal Civilian Agency team as a Senior Presales Systems Engineer, a Sales role at job level TCP04. The focus areas are campus and branch networking, Zero Trust and WAN.

You will act as a customer-facing technical leader who can tie agency mission priorities to workable architecture, even when the environment changes quickly.

You will be the go-to specialist in your area, designing end-to-end technical solutions that connect business goals to scalable architectures. Most of the selling happens at customer sites rather than company offices.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior pre-sales technical adviser on assigned Federal Civilian Agency accounts, mainly for campus, branch, WAN, security and access control designs.
  • Work with account managers to find, qualify and move deals forward from first discovery to close.
  • Run discovery sessions and turn business, operational and technical needs into solution architectures and roadmaps.
  • Design and present wired and wireless campus, branch, WAN, security, NAC, automation and cloud-managed solutions.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, workshops, demonstrations and proof-of-concept projects.
  • Explain what sets the company's networking products apart and position them against competitors.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product management, services and partner teams to clear blockers and align solutions with customer goals.
  • Track market trends, competitor moves and emerging technologies for cloud-driven environments.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer engineers, architects, operations leaders and decision makers.
  • Support channel and partner work where it helps widen your reach within accounts.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in pre-sales systems engineering, solution consulting or similar customer-facing work in enterprise or cloud environments.
  • Deep experience in campus and branch networking, covering wired, wireless, WAN, security and network access control.
  • Strong Juniper Junos and Mist experience is required.
  • Preferred: API knowledge.
  • Highly desirable: SRX knowledge, or knowledge of DMVPN, ADVPN or GroupVPN.
  • Experience with network access security platforms such as HPE Aruba ClearPass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE or similar.
  • Solid working knowledge of data center and WAN technologies. Strongly preferred: direct hands-on experience in one or both.
  • Experience supporting complex customer environments and turning technical capabilities into mission value.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, able to engage everyone from engineers to executives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer locations, primarily across the United States.

Conditions

This is a remote, teleworking role.

California is the preferred candidate location because of primary customer coverage and proximity.

You will travel regularly to customer sites, internal meetings and strategic events, mainly within the United States.

The pay range in California is USD 172,000 to 355,000 a year. It covers base and target sales pay at 100% of plan, split 75% base and 25% target-level sales compensation. The actual offer may differ based on location, experience, education, training or skill level.

The company is an equal opportunity employer that welcomes applicants with disabilities and will consider qualified applicants with criminal records as required by law.

Benefits

  • Health and wellbeing benefits covering physical, financial and emotional health for you and your family.
  • Development programs to help you reach career goals, whether that means becoming a deep expert in your field or moving into another division.
  • Flexibility to manage your work and personal needs.
