Senior Platform Engineer with German/ CI

Description

The role sits in an agile platform engineering team and centres on an AWS-based Kubernetes platform running on Amazon EKS, used by internal software development teams.

The work is about keeping the platform reliable, scalable, secure and automated, with a strong push on self-service tools and a better Developer Experience.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain production Kubernetes clusters on AWS EKS.
• Keep the cloud platform reliable, secure, scalable and high-performing.
• Look after AWS resources including EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, S3 and Lambda.
• Automate provisioning, configuration and deployments using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
• Build and improve observability with Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos and AWS CloudWatch.
• Strengthen platform monitoring, operational visibility and incident response.
• Work with the Developer Experience team on internal self-service capabilities.
• Help shape Golden Paths and standard developer workflows.
• Keep tuning infrastructure, automation, security and platform performance.
• Write up infrastructure architecture, operating procedures and technical changes.
• Take part in the on-call rotation to keep the platform available outside regular business hours.

Requirements

• Proficiency in German sufficient for fluent communication.
• Proven experience in AWS cloud engineering.
• Strong Kubernetes skills, particularly Amazon EKS.
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production.
• Working proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools and CI/CD automation.
• Solid grasp of platform engineering principles.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Thanos and AWS CloudWatch.
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
• Familiarity with multicloud environments.
• Good collaboration skills, especially with Developer Experience teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to document infrastructure architecture and technical changes clearly.
• Willingness to join on-call rotations for platform reliability.

Conditions

Hybrid work with mandatory onsite days in Cologne, travelling there once every 2, 3 weeks.

Office locations are Warszawa, Poznan, Lublin, Katowice, Rzeszów and Łódz.

Fluent English and Polish, both written and spoken, at minimum B2 level.
